Kenneth B. McCausland, 55, Army Engineer Corps, an resident until last fail, died Friday in Yokohama. Col. McCausland resided at 1616 Crest wood drive before he iv as sent to Tokyo last August. Two months ago he transferred to Yokohama, where ne was in charge of the engineering; depot.

His wife, the former Miss Ada; Musson of Trenton. N. had joined him overseas in January. World War I Veteran. A veteran of 18 months overseas in World War Col.

Me Causland was recalled to active duty in 1941. His first post in World War II was with the office of the Chief of Engineers here. A three-year assignment in India won him the Bronze Star for construction of a pipeline from Calcutta to the interior. After the war the engineering officer worked on the Alaska highway. He also served as chief of storage in the office of the Chief of Engineers at Gravelly Point.

Born in Kingston, N. he cnce was chief train dispatcher for the New York division of the Pennsylvania Railroad. From 1935 to 1941 he was senior inspector in the Bureau of Railroads of the New Jersey Public Utilities Commission. Survivors Listed. Besides his widow he is survived by a son.

Christy, 79. retired naval officer and former president of the Naval Examining Board, died yesterday of a reart attack at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Admiral Christy and Mrs. Lloyd H. Chandler were married in July.

1949. They lived at 4701 Connecticut avenue N.W. A widower for many years before that marriage, he had resided at the Army Navy Club. A veteran of 47 years in the Navy, Admiral Christy retired in 1934. Born in Circleville, Ohio, he entered the Naval Academy in 1887.

During the Spanish-American War he served on the U. S. S. Detroit and later on the monitor Amphitrite. In 1914 he commanded the U.

S. S. Salem and later served at the Naval Academy. During World War I he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal while in command of the U. S.

S. San Diego. He also held a letter of commendation from the War Department and the Order Avis of the Portuguese Government. Admiral Christy later was commandant of the Naval Air Station at Pensacola. and commander of the Control Force.

He was commandant of the 15th Naval District and later of the 8th Naval District, from which assignment he came to the Navy Department with the Examining Board. Surviving, besides his widow, are two daughters, Mrs. Christy Crawford of San Diego, and Mrs. Dorothy Will of Albuquerque, N. Mex.

Mrs. Christy's first husband, Capt. Chandler, was the son of William E. Chandler, Secretary of the Navy during President administration. Her son, Admiral Theodore Chandler, was killed aboard his flagship in the Philippines during World War II.

Miss Loretfo Helan Dies; U. S. Worker 26 Years Miss Loretto Clair Helan, 53, a General Accounting Office employe, died Saturday at her home, 4231 Third street N.W., after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Washington, Miss family had lived in Washington for more than a century. Her father.

Frank M. Helan, a police detective sergeant long assigned to the United States Office, died in 1932. Miss Helan was graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in 1913 and began her 26-year Government career with the old War Risk Insurance Bureau in 1916. She was a secretary for 14 years with that organization, which later became part of what is now the Veterans Administration. She had been with the GAO for 12 years at the time of her death.

Surviving are a sister, Miss Mary C. Helan, with whom she lived, and two brothers, Frank B. Helan, 1355 Ingraham street N. and Thomas A. Helan, 5210 Fourth street N.W.

long a Democratic leader in Kentucky, died at his home here yesterday. He had been in declining health many years and had been bedfast five years. Mr. Johnson, a figure in Democratic politics for more than half a century, served 10 consecutive terms in Congress, representing the old fourth district. He was chairman of the State Highway Commission under four Governors and was collector of internal revenue for Kentucky under President Cleveland.

As a youth he represented Nelson County in the State House of Representatives. His first office was that of city attorney here. First elected to Congress in 1906, Mr. Johnson served continuously for 20 years and refused to make his 11th race. No Kentuckian has ever continuously represented a district in Congress longer than Mr.
