Mrs. Glllis is the president of the club. for the coming yeat were completed, and new projects discussed.

The group voted to donate $25 to the Jaycees for the street sign project they are sponsoring. Fellowship WOOD RtVER-The Fellowship Class of the First Church of Christ (Christian), met Friday night at the church, with Mrs. K. Lawson, president, conducting the meeting. Members were urged to prepare for the coming revival meeting begining Aug.

17, and the August meeting of the class has been cancelled due to the revival. Hostesses were Mrs. Harry Kincaid and Mrs. Russell French. Atnoman Have Breakfast WOOD RIVER Mrs.

Luke Waltrip was hostess for the First Baptist Church Amoma class Thursday for breakfast at her cottage in Clifton Terrace. Twenty members and six guests attended, and surprised the husband of the hostess with a birthday cake. Hostesses asssisting Mrs. Wallrip were Mrs. W.

W. Hawkins, Mrs. Gus Bangert, and Mrs. Roy Thorny ton, Vacationing In Minnesota WOOD RIVER Mr. and Mrs.

Steven Paynic are vacationing in Walker, Minn. Paynic is an instructor at Burbank School in Roxana. Mrs. Paynic teaches at Roxana Community High School. Four Initiated Into Wood River Moose WOOD new members were initiated into the Loyal Order of Moose Friday night.

They were Louis Eden, Zina Johnston, Cyril Ferguson, and Frank Lovell. Lovell was class representative. Officers who gave the ritualistic work during the ceremonies were Jess Howell, governor; Karl Stahlhut, junior governor; Jack Grissom, prelate; H. Wehrman, orator; James M. Crouch, sergeant-alarms; and Leroy Schuster, assistant sergeant-at-arms.

Refreshments were served following the meeting to members and their families. The club rooms will be closed from 1 p. m. to 6:30 p. m.

Sunday in order that members may attend the district picnic at Edwardsville. Price Ready tor Action NEW YORK JP Eddie Price, champion ground gainer of the National Foofball League, has signed with the New York Giants and is ready to pick up where he left off last season. Price is the Iron Man fullback who in 1951 carried the ball more often than any player in NFL history. The former Tulane ace rushed 271 times for 971 years. A 70-yard run which was nullified by an offside penalty, revented Price from being the fourth player to reach 1000 yards in one season.

Thursday one of the largest craft classes of the season showed up for the morning session. Pusses Night EAST condition of Ralph Booten, who underwent major surgery Monday at Barnes' Hospital, St. Louis, is improved, according to relatiyes, but, he spent a restless night, last night.

Booten is the owner and operator of the Booten General Store, East St. Louis avenue. His nephew, who has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Booten for several years, Edward Walker, is spending a 15-day leave here assisting Mrs.

Boolen with the work of the store. Airman Walker is stationed at Ellington Air Force Base, Houston, in the purchasing and contracting office. He will report back Aug. 3. Return to New Boston, EAST and Mrs.

Joe Clevenger and son, Donald, New Boston, returned Friday after visiting for several days with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Chamberlain, 877 Haller avenue. Chamberlain and Clevenger were together down most of their service period in World War II. After their return to life this is the first visit they have been able to make since the birth of the Clevenger's son, Donald, namesake of Chamberlain.

Upper Alton amices Baptist Chnrrh Sunday school will begin at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at North Alton Baptist Church. The Rev. William Robertson will preach at the morning worship at 10:45, sermon will bo "As We See The Lord." The BTU will meet at 6:30 and the Rev. Robertson will bring an evangelistic message at 7:30.

The church softball team will practice at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Milton Heights diamond. It will also be work night at the church. The Training Union executive committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church and a church officers mooting will be at 8.

The group of young people attended the sessions of the Southern Illinois M. Y. F. conference Monday through Friday on the campus of McKendree College, Lebanon. Mrs.

VIVIEN LEIGH wto wmitdM imeh (o ftoy a My-' Youth Caravan Reaches Godfrey youth caravan arrived in Godfrey Friday evening to work with the young people of the Melville and Godfrey Congrega tional Churches in a program of work, program planning and worship. Under the youth caravan program groups of four young people each, are sent ogt over the country to work with churches desiring assistance with their youth programs. The caravans are 1 sponsored by the Evangelical and Reformed churches with co-operation ol the Congregational -Christian churches. The members of the youth caravan: La Verne Brady of North Carolina, junior at Elon College majoring in music and religion and planning to teach.

She has held offices in the Methodist Youth Fellowship and is the church organist and children's choir director. Margy Riesinger, a public teacher from St. Louis and is planning to attend Eden Theological Seminary. Last summer she was a work camper in Italy. She teaches Sunday school, and is active in the and 'Youth Federation in the Christian Youth Council in St.

Louis. Alice Stevens, from Shelton, and plans to attend college this fall. Alice plays seven instruments, and has been working in the United Christian Youth Movement as a member of the call committee. Jim Swander, of Tiffin, who graduated from high school thip year. He is a Pilgrim Fellowship president and an usher in the Trinity Church in Tiffin.

An informal reception was held for the young people in the God frey parish house after their arrival. A recreation period will ho spent this afternoon at the parish house.
