Burial will be Monday morning in Berrien Springs, Mich. Mrs. Elliott lied Thursday at the Washington Eiiiott. jUm after an illness of 10 days. Elder Elliott has been associate secretary of the Seventh-day General Conference Headquarters for the last 15 years.

Born in Wichita, Mrs. Elliott was graduated from Emnianuel Missionary College in Berrien Springs. She later taught school in Berrien Springs and in Battle Creek, Mich. She came here in 1922 with her husband and was active in young groups in the Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years here. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs.

Elbert Pester, 115 Maple avenue, Takoma Park, Mrs. Ward Scriven, Atlanta, and Mrs. Walter Howard, Winterset, and two sisters, Mrs. E. G.

Burkins, 57, Harford County member of the Maryland House of Delegates, died of a heart attack yesterday while fishing in the Patuxent River. He was attending the Chesapeake Bay fishing fair with his wife. Mr. Burkins, a Democrat, was mayor of Bel Air 12 years and had been in the House of Delegates since the start of the 1939 session. He also was in inspector for the State Racing Commission.

Charles D. Carle, retired, former chairman of the Review Board of Publication here, are set tentatively for Monday in Fort Meyer Chapel. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Col. Carle, who was 60, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Jefferson Barracks, Mo.

Before his retirement in June, he was commanding officer of the Receiving Administration Center, Adjutant Office, in St. Louis. The colonel had 32 service in the Army. He entered the publication division here under the. Adjutant Office in June, 1942, and subsequently became a member and later chairman of the Review Board of Publication.

He was head of the Adjutant office in the Panama Canal Zone before going to the Receiving Administration Center in St. Louis in 1945. His widow, Mrs. Catherine Carle, is his only survivor. Rifes for Dr.

N. E. Himes Will Be Held Wednesday Funeral services for Dr. Norman Edwin Himes, 49, former Washington sociologist and medical author and one-time member of the surgeon staff, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Fort Myer Chapel.

Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery. Dr. Himes died on June 6 in Venice, Italy, after a fall in his bath tub. Death was caused by a fractured skull, the Associated Press reported. After serving as chief of the office of special education for the military government in Germany.

Dr. Himes remained in Europe on a study mission. He was a former professor at Cornell College, Mount Vernon, Iowa; Clark University and Colgate. He was a major in the office of the surgeon general from 1943 to 1944 and subsequently served with the War Manpower Commission and went to Europe in 1946. Dr.

Himes wrote several books on marriage. He married the former Marian King Bailey in 1947 after the death of his first wife. Before going to Europe he lived at 4429 North Thirty-eighth street, Arlington. Mrs. Phoebe Ann Oliver, 91, Dies in Cumberland Mrs.

Phoebe Ann Oliver, .91, of Cumberland, Md.t son, Edward J. Oliver, lives at 420 Marietta Place N.W., died yesterday in her home city after a long illness. Byrnes Claussen. 77, a retired advertising and newspaperman who acted as a secret agent in World War died yesterday. After graduating from Fordham University, he entered the newspaper business as resort editor for the New York Herald. He later went to Florida and did advertising and public relations work, and then seryed as advertising consultant for the Grace Line, the American Express Co. and the old Hamburg-America Line.

During the first World. War, he was in contact with German plotters in this country, using his contacts with foreign shipping circles to relay information to the Government.
