Loren Pierce was at Alexandria, last evening visiting with friends. Miss Goldle Welches spent yesterday with friends near Alexandria. Mr. and Mrs. George Haxtlng were dainty luncheon was served.

Entertain Chorus. The regular rehearsal ot the Young People's chorus h.g been called for seven o'clock tomorrow evening following which they will be entertained by Mr. and Mrs. E. S.

Effie Frye entertained yesterday afternoon at lier home on South street the following young people, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Davis, Miss Zola Beckett, Milton Yates and Harry Miller.

Mrs. Robert Micheals, more than sustained her reputation as one of the most charming hostesses In this vicinity yesterday where she entertained a number of young people at her beautiful country home northeast of this city. The dinner was given In tonor of her birthday anniversary which she will celebrate on next Tuesday, and the Mkheal home was prettily decorated with autumn leaves in honor of tne occasion.

The party left this city on an early car yesterday and arriving at the range line were met by Mr. Micheals and drove them to the home. Here the day was spent In music, conversation and all the other amusements that go to make up a pleasant day In the country. The dinner, which was served at noon was one of those elaborate spreads for which the hostess Is noted and the menu consisted of everything that goes to make up a chicken dinner In tJhe country. a token of their esteem the guests showered her with aluminum ware.

The party returned home last evening after a day they will long remember. The guests were Misses Mary and Loretta Short, Marie Werllne, Hester Freeman, Nellie Moore, Bertha Cochran, Sanah Strader, Ada Rot'a-rock, Elizabeth Cawley, lone Pence, Mrs. Max Wllsm, Mrs; W. M. Strader, Messrs.

John Jarbo, of Greenfork. The meeting of old friends was a pleasant one and the day was highly enjoyable to all who' were there. Will Give Social. The entertainment committee of the Epworth League society of the Methodist church have announced that they will hold a Boclal Wednesday night of this "week at the home of Carl and Eva Allen, 2 miles east of the city. The crowd will meet at the church and the trip will be made on hayladders.

Elmer Kahler was here yesterday from Alexandria visiting with his mother, Mrs. Elmer Kahler. Mr. and Mrs. O.

D. Hinshaw and feon spent yesterday at Cicero where they were visiting with friends. Glenn Pettljohn, Paul Burris, and Charles Leary and Barl McCarel spent yesterday at Kokomo where they witnefsed the hall game. Mr. John Guthrie of Greentfburg, and Mrs.

John Hamilton, of Carson, Iowa, are visiting In this city the guests of their nelces, Maude and Blanche Coleman. Miss Lccie Creagmlle, who has been visiting for the past few days with her parents returned yesterday to Bloomirgton where she is attend ing Indiana University. Mr. and Mrs. CLrei.ee.

Haines returned to their home In Indianapolis today after attending the funeral of Dewy Haines which was held yesterday at the Methodist church. Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin of Curtis-ville were In the city yesterday visiting at the home of their son, Man-cll Goodwin and wife. At supper, Hershall Alley and Ida Leer were also entertained.
