THURSTON. Over the Post Office, Tennessee We are happy to. announce that a Regiment of Zoaaves ia now being formed in this State for the army of tbe Confederate States, to serve daring tbe war. The Regiment is to be armed with rifles and sabre bayonets, and uniformed in the regular Zouave costnme of the French. It is to be commanded by Col.

J. G. Anglade, who was for several years connected with that service in Earope, and is one of the most thorough military scholars in the South, and a brave, and chivalrous gentleman. He has been connected with several of tbe military schools of the country, and was professor in the Western Military Institute in this city when the War broke oat, since when he has been actively engaged in instructing the volunteers in military knowledge. He will prepare his Regiment more thoroughly than any other in either oIJ.be armies.

It cannot fail to be one of the most entirely effective bodies in the service, as it combines the proverbial bravery of the Tennessee soldier with the peculiar Awrklntlnna iha crpnuinA Sonav- (Vil A v. gladk Irll3 his commission from President Davis, and will soon have his Regiment formed. Heath of Herman Cox, Esq. We regret to announce the death of Herman Oox, an event which occurred yesterday at half-past one o'clock, A. at his residence in this city.

M. We have received reliable information from East Tennessee, and are glad to learo that the people there are gradually acquiescing in tbe action of tbe majority of tbe people of Tennessee on tbe 8th of Jane. TbY have been made tbe subject of so many misrepre notations that they are now getting rick of tbe whole movement; headed by Parson Brow alow, Maynard, Johnson, Nelson and we feel confident in asserting that, not withstanding tbe pandering by Mr. Polk's adherent to the Union sentiment of East Tennsesee, he will receive a vote mere so small as to astonish the leaders of tbe "Grand Polk Separation, Union movement? We woald ask a plain, simple question of Mr. Polk, and of his organs: Wbose votes does be expect to get in Eutt Tennessee? He and tbey are bound to aay that the Union vote of East Tennessee is to be his main stay in tM canvass, aay wings to tigni aa evidences of tbe giving way of tbe Union sentiment of East Tennessee, and every day brings tbe assarance ot tbe gaining strength of the Southern movement of wbicb Gov Harris is tbe avowed and well known leader.

We are clad that no Brownlow chants his praises. We rejoice to know thi trait orous croaking of Maynard and of Nelson and Jonnson ao not swell toe cnoras of an thems in his honor. To tell the truth, Mr. Polk, misled by the artful and designing intrigues of men untrue to the Sonth, is in bad company. He, accor ding to the statement of his organ, voted for 'separation," and yet he is in tbe camp of tbe "anli-separationists." He courts the votes of those wbo regard "separation" as tbe damnable unpardonable sin.

Either Mr. Polk is not all right, or else East Tennessee Unionists are laboring under a delusion "somebody is fooled" that is certain. We believe that Mr. Polk owes it to himself to his name-- to hia reputation, to disconnect himaef from tbe toils thrown around him by men of the Lincolnitish persuasion, and to come out boldly, manfully and bravely for Gov. Isham Harris, and not to permit himself to be made use of as a political Hydrometer to test tbe strength of the Union, Lincoln sentiment in our State.

We doubt not the Lemon will be severely squeezed in this canvass, bnt we don't think the peeling will be highly valued after the operation. If Mr. Polk should, deceived as he certainly is, continue tbe canvass en deavor to thwart tbe will of the people and to hinder the onward march of our glorious movement, we have only to say, "Go in Lem ons, and get squeezed.1' Kindness to thb Enemy. Tbe Richmond Enquirer says some eighty wounded prisoners of the enemy arrived in that city, were taken in charge by citizens and conveyed to private residences to be taken care of. Col.

Manet's Regiment. We are indebt ed to Capt. J.no. S. Dahbtkll for a letter which he received Saturday from a member of CoL Manet's Regiment of Tennessee Volunteers.

It was written at Lynchburg on the 25th. It reports the boys all in good health, not one case of sickness of importance having occurred since they departed from Nashville although they had not slept un der a tent for some days. Tbey were all eager for a boat with tbe enemy.
