BY ASSOCIATED PRESS. -SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 25. President Taft had a busier time than he expect- ed the second day of his visit tQSait Lake City. With Governor Spry, Senator Smoot and others of the 'local committee, he breakfasted at the Commercial club, made an excursion to Saltair and saw the great salt lake for the first time, attended an organ recital at the Mormon tabernacle and expressed to the organisj.

and to the soloists who helped in the'' program his appreciation of their music; had luncheon and spent the early after-noon at the Country club; held a public" reception and spoke out of doors at park at a meeting presided over the" mayor; held a reception to-night at the University- club for graduates and Ohioans resident in Salt Lake and ended'. the day at a banquet in his honor at the Alta club. The excursion to Saltair was arranged by Senator Smoot and on it the President was introduced to a large number of men prominent in the affairs in the Mormon church, including President Jo- sep.h Smith. President Smith sat with the President during the organ recital. In his speech at Liberty Park, th President, after expressing his thanks for the welcome he had received in Utah, said: "There has arisen a deep feeling on th part of the people that we must conserve the resources that the Lord gave- to this continent, in order that our prosperity may not be embarrassed, straitened and even starved.

"Now, to one man more than any other. is the fact due that that issue is before the people and that they have become Impressed with the necessity for our saving and not wasting the resources that Ood has given us, and that man is Theodore Roosevelt. It was not reserved for him to be in office as President in the development even of the first of these great works. "It has often happened that one mat sows and another reaps, a fact that could not but feel when I stood at the mouth of the Gunnison tunnel, a tunnel six miles long, longer than any irrigation tunnel in the world, and opened the way for the water from the Gunnison river to. come into that unpronounceable valley, the Uncompahgro valley, where thousands and thousands of acres are'to'be made to biossom as OEi'i "The pursuit of that policy involves the pasage of legislation well directed toward the result, and that is what we are going to do." LARGE INCREASES MADE IN CAPITALIZATIONS.

Half-Dozen- Pennsylvania Corporations Give Notice of Having Done So, ET ASSOCIATED PRESS. IIARTJISBUKG, Sept. 25. Increases of capital stock aggregating over $5,000,000 were filed at the capltol by railroad companies this week, the Lewisburg Tyron leading, with an increase from $100,000 to $700,000. 25. My last bulletin gave forecasts of a disturbance to cross the continent September to 26; a warm wave 21 to a cool wave 24 to 2S. This disturbance was expected to be preceded by very low temperatures, the week centering on 24 to average unusually cool, electric storms not far from 24, and cooler than usual balance of September. The next disturbance will reach th Pacific coast about 26, cross Pacific slope by the close of 27, the great central Valleys 2S to 30, and the fastern States and provinces October 1. A warm wave will cross the Pacific slope about the great central valleys 2S, and' the Eastern States and provinces 30.

A cool wave will cross Pacific slope about 29, the great central valleys October 1. and the Eastern States and provinces October 3. This disturbance will cause severe storms, as it passes eastward across the continent. It will be preceded by moderate weather and will be followed by a cold wave that will carry frosts to the northern borders of the cotton belt. Moderate rains will follow the warm wave.

The first disturbance of October will reach the Pacific coast about 1, cross Pacific slope by the close of 2, the great central valleys 3 to 5, and the Eastern States and provinces 6. A warm wave will cross the Pacific slope about 1, the great central valleys (longitude 105 to 85) October 3, the Eastern States and provinces 5. A cool wave will cross the Pacific slope about 4, the great central valleys 6, and the Eastern States and. provinces S. Temperatures will not go very high with this disturbance, while preceding-and following it unusually cool weather will prevail.

It will be most severe on the Pacific slope and will decrease in force as it moves eastward. Not much rain is expected during the week of this disturbance. The severe storm periods of October will center on 1 and 13 and SS. The month will be unusually cold. Kill- ing frosts will go unusually far souta about October 16 and 25.

with lighter frosts near October 1. Most precipitation will come from 4 to 16. Indications are that heavy rains will fall during October where the August, drouth prevailed and dry weather elsewhere. My weatner charts predicted northeastern frosts during the week ending September 7, and the frosts got there. These bulletins advised farmers not to sell corn while the Chicago prices for the new crop were below 60 cents.

Corn went up from 51 to 61 cents before September 14. Now I advise farmers not to sell any of their new crop till the price at Chicago touches 70. I do not advise them to sell even then, but will let them be the judges after it touches 70. Better keep your wheat till the Chicago price reaches $1.25 and your oats till they pass the 40-cent mark. These bulletins have n9ver misadvised the farmers as to prices of their grain and cotton.

By acting In harmony we have seen cotton go from oats from IS to cents, wheat from cents to above $1 cptt-924dts-7 STAR 'REALTY 326 Fourth Rooms 29-33 Sells all. kinds of business places. iO -S SLAUGHTER HOUSE AND MEAT MARKET fx.MHi buys a slaughter bouse and meat inarket in suburban town, including two corses, two wagons, buggy and harness, etc rent only $20; clearing above all expenses 300 per month; last month's business was S.
