State winning with the score of 17 to 0. State team this year ia made up of all new material outside of three men. and the game to-day served to give an idea of the possible strength In the future. The showing made was very satisfactory to both Coach Golden and Captain Hewitt. The m-n have been In training but 10 days, yet the team work and interference were splendid.

The greatest weakness was tumbling but thla can be overcome. In the first half of to-day's game State had everything her own way, making three touchdowns In luaa than 14 minutes. Bennett. Whitworth, Scholl and Smith made runs of from 15 to 36 vards. In tho second half Susquehanna took a brace and by taking- advantage of bo much fumbling, kept the State team from adding to her score.

13 team, the latter composed of deaf mutes, lined up against each other and one hour of good hard practice was done by both. As the varsity will play State next Saturday-Captain McConneli was anxious to try the defense, and the mutes were given the ball for the first 15 minutes. They played a furious game and It took several minutes before the varsity could stop the line plays. Coach Hochensmith finally got the line men working together and then very few gair.s acre made by the mutes. The varsity then too the ball and rushed their opponents' line and ends at wilt, although there was considerable fumbling, whli wld have to be eliminated this week to prepare the team for next Saturday's game.

Morrow and Edwards were both tiled at quarter, and Kd wards' work showed that he will soon be able to handle the bail in good shape. Morrow's work showed up well the defense. Jamison, the wrestler, was tried st guard, and showed up in good form for a new man. He is a man of great strength, and Is active on his feet. Coach Hock' r.smlih believes he will be a ground ga Iner.

There Is no doubt of any position now except center, and a new man will have to be developed befoi next Saturday, which means a lot or work for the coax lies. Good hard work will be the program ail thi week, and if eveiythlng turns out as expect-, W. V. P. will go to ttate with a team that will keep the boys from Center county on the lump.

21. The athletic association of the West Virginia last night to look over the football situation. It developed that there is plenty unl versity held an enthusiastic meeting of good material on the ground for a team, but funds are not available for making the best of this material. Lewis A. Seven of last season's team are here. Manager Lardin has decided that no games will be played against teams which on the face of things clearly outclass the university eleven. Nine games are scheduled and the negotiations are pending for three more. Out for the Championship. The Southside A.

C. has reorganixed for the coming seastn. Most of the old players will again be with the team. The boys declare the Jr will be stronger this season and are out for the championship of the class The team will line up twice a week. Tuesday and Thursday.
