Price of the Orchid Shop displayed and demonstrated holiday table arrangements using both artificial and natural flowers and greens. Other decorations to be used throughout the home were also shown and discussed. Plans for the annual Christmas dinner to be held jat Le- Thursday, Dec. IT, at rn were announced at the meeting. Members wishing to make reservations must do so before Dec.

14 by calling the Mmes. Richard Holden, chairman, Donald Boyce or Allen Kent. Those planning to attend are asked to bring a gift to be exchanged after the dinner. Hostesses for the meeting were the Mmes. Robert Booth, Richard Holden, Martin Keller, Henry Millonig, Robert Murray and Richard VanBramer.

The YWCA is a Red Feather Agency. Mrs. Walter T. Tremper, Re- Thursday, gent, presided over the meeting of Wilt Wyck Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, which was held at the Chapter House Dec. 3.

The Rev. Harold F. Schadewald, pastor of the Hurley Reformed Church, was the guest speaker, and gave an interesting and inspiring All enjoyed singing Christmas carols, with Mrs. Claude G. Palen as accompanist.

Mrs. William C. Kingman gave a brief biography of her grandfather, Major George Von Beck, whose Lafayette sword was recently presented to the Senate House Museum by Julian K. Canfield. Mrs.

Kingman noted that her grandfather was a graduate engineer and spoke five languages, but when he arrived in the United States in 1833, he was forced to earn his living as a "Pack in Long Island, and later in Rondout. His ability to repair a broken lock in the Delaware and Hudson Canal at Eddyville, earned him a position with that company, and he eventually became a prosperous business man in Rondout. Refreshments were served with Mrs. Harry J. Rigby as hostess.

Mr. Waligurski was chairman of the Hurley Festival Committee. The tea was held in the basement of the Hurley Reformed Church. Introduced by Mrs. Vernon Goetchius, chairman of the committee which planned Sunday's affair.

George Miller, Lions Club president was master of ceremonies. Mr. Miller presented Charles Relyea. supervisor, who read a resolution passed by the Town Board commending Mr. and Mrs.

Waliguihki for their activities during this Year of History for the benefit of the Town of Hurley. Mr. Relyea. on behalf of the Town Board, then offered Mr, Waligurski the post of Town Historian for Hurley and presented the couple with a plaque of a map of Hurley subscribed with a word of appreciation.from the citizens of the Town. Following remarks, the Rev.

Harold F. Schadewald, pastor of the Hurley Reformed Church, presented Mr. and Mrs. Waligurski with a reproduction of an antique Federal mirror, a gift of the Mr. Schadewald expressed the hope that in it they would always see reflected tho gratitude of the I town for their creative leadership.

Mr. Miller acknowledged the indebtedness of the town to all who worked to make Year of History interesting and rewarding. Head of the Hurley Library Committee, a large American flag, to be flown in the center of the town in front of the Hurley Library. The flag had been sent to Mrs. Stanley Kaplan, Secretary of the Hurley Festival Committee, as a result of an exchange of letters between Mrs. Kaplan and Henry Dewitt Greene, a former resident of Hurley, now a lawyer and flag manufacturer in Norfolk, Va. Dr.

McNamarra promised that the flag would fly as soon as possible. Many representing all the organizations of the town attended the tea and signed the guest book which was also presented to Mr. and Mrs. Waligurski. The newly renovated church basement had been decorated beautifully by Mrs.

Harold F. Schadewald and Mrs. Joseph Viano Sr. Mrs. Viano arranged a table for the children featuring a replica of Henry Half Moon, which was later presented to the Waligurski children.

Little wooden shoes filled with candy, punch bowls chilled by floating molds of colorful frozen fruit, and platters of home-made cookies were featured. The tea table was arranged in Dutch colors with yellow snapdragons, and white pompons in an antique blue vase. Presiding at the tea table were Mrs. C. Dixon, honorary pourer, Mrs.

O. D. B. Ingalls, Mrs. Claude Palen.

Miss Ruth Waterbury, Mrs, S. F. Ten Fly ck, Mrs. George Brown, Mrs. John Gill, and Mrs.
