Totally Tuesday and National Night Out Aug. 2 FULTON Members of Bethel 57 Fulton recently returned from their annual Grand Session in celebration of Daughters Interna- tional 100th year anniversary. The Grand Session was held in East Peo- ria on June 24-27.

Bethel 57 won an award for an increase in membership despite the shutdown because of COVID-19. Daughter Annabell R. was selected for an Illinois State Grand Bethel Officer as Grand Bethel Musi- cian, and Whitney V. received the honor of being named Grand Bethel Representative to the State of California. Daughter International is an orga- nization of young women that has a tremen- dous respect for its past and is building upon that foundation as it moves confi- dently in the future.

By preparing its mem- bers to be successful and determined young ladies, Daughters helps equip them with the leadership skills necessary in the 21st century. They have fun together at activities such as game nights, dances, slumber parties, weekend trips and much more. In Daughters, girls will make new friends that will last a lifetime. Daughters perform service projects in their own community and help the less fortunate. They actively support the Hearing Improvement Kids Endowment (HIKE) Fund, which purchases hearing devices for hearing impaired chil- dren.

Daughters can also qualify for scholarships. The young ladies learn democratic prin- ciples as they run their own meetings, decide their own activities, and plan their own events. Daughters offers the qual- ities that young women want and need. If you know of a girl between 10 and 22 years of age who would want to learn com- mitment and have fun while making friends and helping others, please contact Judith at or look up the Fulton chapter at www.iljd.org.
