All activities will be at the Pioneer Pavilion Lady Bird Johnson Park Mrs. Alvin Durst Mrs. Alvin Durst, 77. died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 1977, at 5 a.m.

Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 19, at 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. E. J. Hierholzer of Kilgore and Rev.

Milton Ford of Baytown officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery. A devotional service was held Thursday, At 7:30 p.m., in the funeral chapel with the Rev. A. M.

Roos officiating. Mrs. Durst was the former Minna Emilie Schlaudt. She was born June 18, 1900, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Karl Schlaudt and Anna Arlt Schlaudt. She married Rev.

Alvin Durst Feb. 25, 1922, and they shared over 55 years of married life, 44 of them in the ministry. As long as her health permitted, she was active in church work and loved children and young people, teaching their classes for years. In addition to her husband, who is the pastor of Emmanuel Gospel Church, she is survived by one daughter, Bernice, and a son-in-law, Rev. Perry Woerner; three grandsons, Rene Sheldon, Hadley Ross and Gaylon Reese Woerner, all of Fredericksburg; one brother and two sisters, Edward Schlaudt; Adeline, Mrs.

Arthur Weber; and Olga, Mrs. Jim Priess, all of Fredericksburg. Preceding her in death were a brother, Theodore Schlaudt; a sister, Alma Mrs. Clayton Burnham; and another brother who died in infancy. Mrs.

C. L. Weinheimer was the organist. A duet composed of Mrs. Richard Neffendorf and Mrs.

James Neffendorf, with Mrs. W. A. Dryden, at the organ, rendered a vocal selection. Pallbearers were Mervin Burnham, W.

A. Dryden, Harold Crenwelge, William Oehler, Edgar Wendel, Walter Kast, Elgin Bauer and Howard Burner. Martha Umfrid Mrs. Martha Vasterling Umfrid, 90, died Saturday, Aug. 13, in Hill Country Manor nursing home, Llano.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m., in Waldrope Funeral Home with burial following in the Umfrid Family Cemetery near Valley Spring. Mrs. Umfrid was born Jan. 14, 1887, in Llano County and was married to Edwin Henry Umfrid Feb.

28, 1906, in Llano. He died in February 1963. She was a Lutheran. Survivors include two sons, Raymond Umfrid of Valley Spring and Edmund Umfrid of Llano; one daughter, Edna Schneider of Llano; one sister, Mrs. Meta Birk of Castell; six grandchildren; five grandchildren.

Messengers of Joy (Bethany) Obituaries Clara Anderegg Clara Anderegg, 62. died Thursday, Aug 18, 1977. at 8:50 a.m., in Hill Country Memorial Hospital Her body lay in state in Beckmann Funeral Chapel until 12:30 p.m., Saturday, and from 1 to 2 p.m.. in Bethany Lutheran Church. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m.

in the church, with the Rev. Lawrence Bade and Rev. G. Wolf officiating Burial followed in the Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Cherry Spring Miss Anderegg was a retired school teacher. She attended school at Cherry Spring and was graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1933.

She attended Texas Lutheran College and got her degree from Sul Ross State University, Alpine. She taught in the rural schools of the county and for many years prior to her retirement in the elementary school at Mason. She was born March 11, 1915, in Gillespie County, the daughter of Henry Anderegg and Clara Wendel Anderegg. Survivors are two sisters and a brother, Selma, Mrs. Wm.

Strackbein of Hartman, Edna, Mrs. Milton Cosper, Harper; Gilbert Anderegg, Harper; also a half-brother, Melvin Anderegg, Hunt; and a half-sister, Hazel, Mrs. John Davitt, Jacksonville, Ark. Mrs, Victor Stahl was the organist and the congregation sang during the service. Pallbearers were Milton J.

Wendel, Emil Anderegg, Weston Luckenbach, Martin Wendel, Clarence Crenwelge and Arthur Crenwelge. Wavland ner Way land Towner Heather Weber Heather Ann Weber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Weber, Round Rock, was stillborn Aug. 19, 1977, at 4:13 p.m.

in Austin. Graveside services at the City Cemetery, Fredericksburg, were held Saturday, Aug. 20, at 5 p.m., with the Rev. Stephen Quill of Peace Lutheran Church. Round Rock, officiating.

In addition to her parents, George Weber and Carolyn Usener Weber, the survivors include a sister, Gretchen Marie Weber; grandparents, Mrs. Lela R. Novian, Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Usener; and a grandfather, Alvin Usener, all of Fredericksburg.

Henry Feller Henry Feller, 88, died Sunday, Aug. 21,1977, at 11:50 p.m., in Hill Country Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug 23, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Schlueter officiating. Burial followed in the Meusebach Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Feller was a retired farmer and rancher. He was born March 23,1889, in Gillespie County, the son of Thomas Feller and Marie Herbort Feller. He married Emma Reffelt May 6,1913, in the Block Creek community of Kendall County, and she survives him. Other survivors, in addition to his wife, are a son and daughter-in-law, Mr.

and Mrs. Werner Feller of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Hulda, Mrs. Max Enderlin of Fredericksburg. Preceding him in death were five brothers, Alfred, Louis, Ernst, Willie and Felix Feller. Mrs.

C.L. Weinheimer was the organist for the services. Pallbearers were Max Enderlin Erno Feller, Elbert Feller, Reinhard Behrends, Herbert Feller and Erwin Klemstein Visitors Here From Germany Mrs. Elizabeth Schwartz and her granddaughter, Ulrike Schwartz of Eiershausen, Hessen, Germany, are visaing here with their relatives, Mr. and Mrs.

with picn Wayland D. Towner, 85, organizer of San Antonio's Community Chest and later vice president of Trinity University, died Saturday, Aug. 20. 1977, at p.m., at Knopp Nursing Home No. 2.

He and Ins wife had lived in Fredericksburg for a number of years, having moved here from Comfort. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Schaetter Funeral Home, Fredericksburg, with the Rev. Perry Woerner officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Towner was born Jan. 9, 1892, in Montpelier, Vermont, the son of Edward E. Towner and Caroline B. Brown Towner. Cht April 4, 1947, he married Dorothy Wood tn New York.

N. and she survives him. Other survivors, in addition to his are three sons, John of Crow Point, Indiana; Edward M. of Columbus, Ohio; and Russell of Thousand Oaks, Calif; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Towner was a former mile record holder at the University of Maine where he received his B.

S. degree in 1914. He came to Texas after a distinguished record of community organization activities in other parts of the country. He was vice president of H. H.

Hailey New York City, organizers and manager of the first Admiral Byrd Antarctic expedition and Amelia trans-Atlantic flight. After establishing San chest in 1940. then serving as manager of the first War Chest, he was drafted as World War II manager of the United War Chest, Texas state unit of the National War Fund. His services were so distinguished and successful in that capacity that a joint resolution of both houses of the state legislature commended his leadership. Later he directed United China nation-wide campaign in 6,000 American communities.

His lifetime professional career encompased 80 or so projects for as many health, educational and welfare projects from coast to coast. He was a veteran of World War serving in the 20th U. S. (regular) Army Engineers, a past state commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of the Masonic order, Sigma Chi fraternity, Rotary and other service clubs. Pallbearers were Michael Kramer, Tim Kramer.

The Frantzen-Ahrens Veterans of Foreign Wars were represented by Steve Borski, Herbert Fiedler and James Teague in the graveside and flag-folding services. Emily Jordan Miss Emily Jordan, 82, of 926 Cincinnati San Antonio, died Aug. 20, 1977 Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 23, at 10 a.m., in Our Lady of Mt.

Carmel and St. Theresa (Little Flower Shrine), San Antonio, with Zizik-Kearns in charge of arrangements. Burial following in San Fernando Cemetery. A rosary was held Monday at 7 p.m. in Zizik-Kearns chapel which was attended by Frederick Metzger, Mrs.
