John Helwig, of Cross street, who has been laid up all fail with a broken leg was down town Friday looking around and greeting friends. Although unable to get around without the aid of crutches, Mr. Helwig is nearly well and will soon be able to resume his position at the Toomey Sulky where he is employed as an expert varnisher. Mrs. Oliver Toomey of Wooster avenue, returned today from Cleveland, where she has been the past few days buying her son Christmas presents.

Dover high school won the opening basket ball game of the season at the Casino last night. Wooster high school was the vioMm. The score was 48 to 17. The visitors were out played from start to finish, and were completely out-classed. They never had a look-in at victory scoring but eight baskets from the field, and those at long intervals.

Gay and Weber were the star players of the game, but the entire Dover team played as one man, each of tne boys playing good consistent basket hall.
