Robert Potter, a report was given on the recent executive committee meeting and Mrs. Donald gave a report. Mrs. Tom Mercer presented the devotions, her theme being "Prison She also presented the program, giving highlights of her recent trip to the Orient. Next meeting is Dec.

Miss Margaret Stewart was in charge of the program, her topic being Price War and Killing There will be no meeting in December. APRIL CIRCLE Twelve members responded to roll call during the April Circle meeting at the home of Mrs. Harmon Handwork on the Georgetown Itoad. Mrs Handwork served coffee and rolls prior to the meeting Mrs Jack Hovis presided and gave devotions taken from Upper Plans were discussed for the family night observances at the church' during Advent, assisting the Salvation Army with its a Live project for Christmas. Rhea Weirick was hostess to the September Circle at her home on Maple with 12 members and a guest, Mrs. Larry Chamberlain, attending Mrs. Thelma Entrikin presided at the business session at which Mrs. Ackerman reported on the recent executive committee meeting. Mrs.

Walter Strain presented devotions, her topic being to Abused and Battered Mrs. Robert Dunn was in charge of the program taken from by Catherine Marshall. Next meeting is Dec 14 at 1:15 p.m at the home of Mrs. Robert Entrikin. OCTOBER CIRCLE Mrs.

John Stoffer was the presiding officer when 10 members of the October Circle met at the home of Mrs. Carl Wright on South Lincoln Avenue. A report of the executive committee meeting was given and donations were collected for the Salvation Army for Christmas. Mrs Ftalph Walton and Mrs. Stoffer presented the devotions and program which included a missionary report and a hymn study.

Next meeting is Dec. 14 at 11 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Terry Rufer on Goshen Road. NOVEMBER CIRCLE Fourteen members responded to roll call during the November Circle meeting at the home of Mrs.

Lawrence Chamberlain on Tanglewood Drive. Mrs. W'esley Houger presided, Mrs. James Armstrong gave a fellowship report, Mrs. Clyde McFeeley gave a report and a mission report was given by Miss Sarah Cooper.

Miskimins presented a mission report on Thailand. The circle is meeting this afternoon at the home of Mrs. Chamberlain on Tanglewood Drive. Mr. and Mrs.

Ilomer Royer Reception Honors The Homer Royers In observance of their golden wedding anniversary, Mr and Mrs. Homer Royer of Columbiana, were guests of honor at an open house reception at their home at 3183 Middleton Road recently. Approximately 50 guests attended the celebration, which was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Zeitler of Columbiana, and their children, Anne, Eileen, Dale and Laurie Zeitler.

A dessert luncheon was served at a table centered with an arrangement of mums and carnations in soft pastel shades, laced with breath and flanked by gold tapers. An anniversary cake trimmed in gold and white completed the setting. Mr Royer and his wife, the former Cora Esterly, were married in Columbiana on Nov. 22, 1927, in the parsonage of the Grace United Church of Christ by the Rev. E.F.

Weist. Mrs. Royer is a daughter of Mr and Mrs. Henry Esterly of Columbiana and a great-great- granddaughter of Michael Esterly, one of the first settlers in Columbiana in 1804. Mr.

Royer, a retired farmer, is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Royer of Columbiana. He is a member of the Columbiana- Fairi ield Ruritan Club, and he and bis wifeare members of the Grace United Church of Christ. Michele Ross Wed In Georgia Wade Schaefers Mark 40 Years Of Marriage Mr and Mrs.

Albert Anthony Ross of 1044 E. 6th are announcing the late autumn marriage of their daughter, Michele Mary, to Attorney Victor McEver Baird, son of Mrs Rufus Baird of Atlanta, and the late Mr Baird. The young couple exchanged their nuptial vows in a private family ceremony in Atlanta on Tuesday, Nov. 22. The following day the newlyweds traveled by plane to Ohio to spend Thanksgiving holiday with the bride's During this time Mr and Mrs.

Baird is employed as a reporter for the Atlanta Coastitution. is a 1970 graduate of Salem High School and a cum laude graduate of Miami University in Ohio. While at Salem High School she was an AFS student in Uruguay, South America, in 1969. Attorney Baird is employed as assistant attorney general for the state of Georgia, handling environmental and consumer law. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Georgia, School of I and served as a captain in the Air Force.

Mr and Mrs. Wade Schaefer ol 280 Springdale celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary with family members and friends on Sunday during the annual Salem Area Old Car Christmas dinner party at the Down-on-the-Farm restaurant in Deerfield Twenty-six relatives and club members attended the event. Mr Schaefer is the current retiring president of the club. The former Sara Starbuck and Mr.

Schaefer, son of the late Johnathan and Lillie Schaefer of Salem, were married on Dec. 4, 1937, at a home on the Stratton Road. Mrs Schaefer is a daughter of Lewis Starbuck of Salem and the late Myrtle Starbuck. The Schaefers are the parents of two children, Mrs. Mark (Lois) Hross of Bath, and Dale Schaefer of Salem, and they have four grandchildren.

Mr. Schaefer, who is retired, owned and operated the Wade Schaefer Simplicity Sales and Service here. He is a member of the UCT and a council member at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, of which both he and bis wife are members.
