Every exhibit has 1 been improved and increased in attractiveness. In Machinery hall an attractive combination of exhibits completed the opening week was the aeroplane models and the Walker collection of ancient weapons of war. Visitors are able, in looking over the collection, to see the very battle axes carried by Queen Elizabeth's life guards, and the joustins? swords carried in battles in the fifteenth century. The trusty rifle of Gist, the guide of George Washington, when he came for the first time over the mountains to the site of Pittsburgh, is also shown. The relics of Waterloo and a score of other great battles are telling their mute story of bygone struggles, while crowning it all are modern inventions of man.

Moving Models Attractive Isa S. Bassett, traffic manager of the Chamber of Commerce, had added to the interesting collection of models in the display on "Transportation," given under the auspices of the business men of Pittsburgh. The feature of this exhibit is its action, for trains of electric cars and a model river tow boat in operation at once arrest attention. The idea of the exhibit covers all forms of transportation, even to the messages by telegraph and telephone, with sample instruments in the collection. A corps of skilled men were put to work replacing parts where needed, polishing, tuning and otherwise overhauling these pianos.

When finally inspected and passed upon, many were in such tdiaps that tliev could well have been sold for new pianos but for the inherent honesty of the Mellor Company. These splendid pianos, all backed by the Mellbr guarantee, are to be sold at from $100 to $JO0 less than the usual price. The prices range from J99 up. and there are included about 45 that are to sell at less than J150. When one considers that a good piano can be bought at this sale, a guaranteed piano, at less than J150, and on a basis of a few dollars down and a few dollars a month, one wonders what excuse any Pittsburgh family can offer for not having a piano in their parlor at once.
