Aug. 3. Pittsburgh is to have large representation in the Boardwalk crowd of thei opening, August Sunday. 1 Newcomers have been pouring in. Pittsburgh fishermen will be able to prove their stories of big catches at the shore under a new plan of the Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce.

Officials are to issue certificates testifying to number ami weight of catches. Success of the twT fishing banks built last year as lures for food fifh has decided officials to start another artificial fishing ground closer to the beach. Proprietors of cabarets who sought to evade the recent edict against paid performers' as attractions, were checkmated by police officials, who have decided that the new law is valid against those who sell soft drinks and "near beers," as well as in tmart beachfront places where cocktails and highballs abound. Officials also caused another roundup of fortune tellers. War babies, born since the entrance of the United States in the struggle, are to have prizes and classes in the baby shows on piers.

Strenuous End Put to Fight in West Virginia Senatorial, Congressional, State and County Candidates Work Up to Last Minute. POLITICIANS ARE ANXIOUS TBt.EftBAir to The Gazettk Times. CtIAIM.KSTOX, VV. An. Tlie jiolitical campiugn in West Vir ginia -yas closed tonight with 'one of the most strenuous finishes in history.

Candidates, however, will do some hard Monday in home precincts. Political meetings have been held in alf tha state with senatorial candidates pleading directly with 1 Republican politicians are puzzled over the outcome of the senatorial contest. Each candidate has a big following in Charleston, with Joseph H. Gaines-, the home man, in the lead. At the State House, sentiment is divided between Highland.

Elkins and Hughes, with Highland a little favored. The contest being waged in the Fifth Congressional District between "Well a Ooodykoontz of Williamson and Hugh Ike Shott of Bluefield is a hummer. Reports indicate Goodykoontz holds-the advantage but the contest will be close. Two Democrats, John R. Pendleton of Princeton, and W.

W. McNeal of Bluefield. seek nomination. Republicans always have carried the district and it is a forgone conclusion they will again. Another warm congressional race is that between L.

S. Echols of Charleston, and A. S. Thorn of Montgomery, Republicans, of the Sixth district, with chances- apparently even. Congressman Adam B.

Littlepage now represents the district and has no oppoeftion. Two Democrats are making life merry for the voter in the Third Congressional district, where Ernest Randolph of Falem an(i James W. Robinson of Clarksburg are fighting. Stewart F. Reed of Clarksburg will oppose them at the November election.

Mr. Reed is strong in his district and it is not believed that either Democrat will cause him much trouble. In the Fourth congressional district a hard campaign is being waged by Stewart H. Bowman tyf Huntington and Harry P. Camden of ParkersUurg for the Democratic nomination.

Indi-dications are that Bowman has the best of it. Congressman Harry Wood-yard, Republican, has no opposition within his party. Two Republicans and two Democrats seek congressionar nomination in the Second district. Congressman George- M. Bowers of Martinsburg is opposed fir renomination by William T.

George of Philippi. Mr. George was former speaker of the House of Delegates and reports indicate that he is giving Congressman Bowers a close run, although Bowers is said to have an edge. Of the Democrats, li. E.

L. Allen of Morgantown, and B. H. Hin-er of Franklin, it is said that the lat-terwill win easily. IRISH DAY OUTING.
