A yo ing boy or girl can operate it with ease, washing the heaviest fabrics and the most delicate lacs without the least Injurious effect. Whv do good wasners still use the washboard? Why they use the washhonrd after using so-called washing machines? Because they cannot get clothes clean in eny other i and every woman knows it. The BRUSH WELL does the washing thoroughly and produces beautifuilv clean and sweet-smelling garments with nothing mora than ordinary soaps. WITHOUT THE USE OF A WASHBOARD. The FRL'SHWELL washes by means of brushes and rollers, having neither Saddle nor stamps; it does not have to be opened to arrange the wash.

His request was refused by Attorney Wilson. believe a bill can be asked to show that the Jones Laughlin Company is guilty of "ultra vires' acts in making collections for the Pittsburgh Mercantile Company, which It would not make for any other stores." Mr. Cunningham said. As the company refuses to produce Its books, it seems to me the wav I suggest is the only possible procedure." In a staement to Mr. Cunningham.

Attorney Stein declared It was shown there Is an almost absolute identitv of interests between the two firms, that "nearly every one who owns stock in one company also owns stock in the other. The Jones Laughlin Steel Company and the Pittsburgh Mercantile Company are officered, he said, by practically identical persona. Another point he brought out is the proximity of plants and stores. Stein, called attention to the testimony that almost all of the patrons of the stores are employes of the steel company, and declared that exorbitant prices are charged. "Why does the Jones Laughlin Company conduct stores?" he said.

"The Pnlted States Steel Corporation, doing the same kind of steel business on a much larger scale, does not do it. The Oliver Iron and Steel Company does not do it. The great Westinghouse interests do not do it. Mr. Jones, on the stand, gave what I think is the real reason.

He said it is to the interest of the Jones Laughlin Company to do it." "Do your clients want this company's charter forfeited?" the deputy attorney general asked Stein. "Yes." Stein said. "Let the company suffer for its alleged acts." Figures were cited by Attorney Wilson to show that the Pittsburgh Mercantile Company pays no money to the Jones Laughlin Company. The store is operated separately, he said, and not a cent of its money reaches the Jones Lauehlin treasury. He said he admitted that B.

F. Jones. is president of both the Jones Laughlin Steel Company and the Pittsburg Mercantile Company and that other officers are similar, but he maintained that B. F. Jones.

is not a stockholder In the Pittsburgh Mercantile Company and that the Pittsburgh Mercantile Company's store does not occupy property owned by the steel company. "It is not necessary for me to go Into a defense of a pioneer firm like Jones Laughlin," he said. B. Cunningham near the close or the hearing held In his office, in the Henry W. Oliver Building yesterday. Instead of the quo warranto proceedings to show flanclal relations existing Between the steel company and the store, the state may take the case In Its own hands In an effort to show that the steel company Is violating the law In collecting accounts for the Mercantile Company, something, he said, It would not do for other stores.
