station on 11th Avenue looked out the window and saw a chip truck driving by without a rear tire and rim assembly The dispatcher quickly got on the radio and Franklinton police units stopped the chip truck on Washington Street near The driver Deandre Addison 22 was questioned by police and stayed at the scene until troopers from the Louisiana State Police arrived Please See Page A3 A horrific traffic accident on Highway 25 north of Franklinton last Thursday afternoon claimed the life of a trucker from Mora Louisiana According to the report filed by Louisiana State Police the accident was caused by a rear tires and rim assembly that broke off of a chip truck driving south toward Franklinton When the tires and rim broke off of the chip truck the assembly flew into the northbound lane of traffic causing another trucker to swerve to avoid hitting the assembly After swerving this truck came back onto the road and hit die truck being driven by Tommy White 42 of Mora Both of these trucks caught fire and White died in the blaze of his truck THE CHIP TRUCK that caused the accident via loss of the tire and rim assembly continued on toward Franklinton with the driver apparently unaware of what had occurred First responders to the scene quickly put out a radio alert for the missing truck and by coincidence a dispatcher at the Rear wheel assembly broke off causing accident Staff commended for keeping RMC open during hurricane were also slightly up Mizell said the hospital is applying again for a $10000 grant money can be used for a variety of services including EMS training
