LETTERS FROM missionaries in India and Formosa were read at a recent meeting of the Alena Calkins Missionary Society of the Southeast Friends Church held in the home of Mrs. Carl Lippiatt. Mrs. Fred Jennings reported on Anna Nixon, a missionary from India. A report on the recent Missionary Retreat held at Malone College was given by Mrs.

Carl Donley. Mrs. William Dinsio, Mrs. Edwin Jeffries and Mrs. Lifpiatt.

Mrs. Ferry Hughes was devotional leader. A bridal shower was held for Mrs. Hughes, and a gift was presented to Mrs. James Dinsio for her baby daughter, Theresa.

Refreshments were served by Mrs. Lippiatt and Mrs. Jennings. The group discussed plans for a mother-daughter banquet. MISS ELEANOR GECKLER of Bedford will be a guest at Wednesday meeting of the Salem Camera Club in the Memorial Building.

Miss Gekler will show pictures of the Scandinavian countries, the Arctic Circle. England, Scotland and Ireland. Mrs. Chris Roessler will be in charge of refreshments. Members are to bring guests.

XI GAMMA BETA Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will hold a tea Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Ruth Smucker House. Mrs. Thomas Paparodis announced plans for the event at a recent chapter meeting presided over by the president, Mrs. Jerold Smith.
