Wisner social news By Wisner Garden Club 724-7273 or 724-6264 Williams, Trey Kiper, and Jesse Young enjoyed the most interesting training course. The group was met at La. College by Rev. Carlton Vance, director of alumni, who conducted a tour of the campus for them. They also drove around the Central Baptist Hospital and visited the Baptist Bookstore.

After supper they drove Turnage-Jordan to Emmanuel Baptist Church for the seminar. Mrs. Julia Vogel has been in New Orleans for two weeks visiting friends. Youth I of the First Baptist Church, under the direction of Mrs. J.E.

Temple, Mrs. Frances McDonald, Mrs. Bill Thomas, P.J. Spears, and Ernest Kiper enjoyed a party at the church Friday night. The girls in an attendance competition lost to the boys and thus had to entertain the boys.

Last weekend, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Knotts were guests in Farmerville of Mr. and Mrs.

Joe Baughman, Chris, David, and Nancy Lynn and Sarah. Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Cruce Wedding vows spoken honor and bridesmaids were Miss Pam Wisecarver of Baskin and Miss Sheila Tarver of Winnsboro.

They wore floor length gowns of royal blue velvet featuring duchess necklines and empire waist line with elbow length puff sleeves. Their headdresses were of royal blue sweetheart flowers and velvet streamers and they carried one long stem white rose with white streamers. James Allen Turnage brother of the bride, served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Jason Wisecarver and Thomas Earl Nobles, all of Baskin. At the reception the color scheme of royal blue and white was further carried out with the bride's table of royal blue overlayed by Franklin births was 22 inches long.

Dennis M. Boyte Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Boyte announce the birth of their first child, a son, born April 1st in Caldwell Memorial Hospital Matthews weighed six pounds and nine ounces. Mrs.

Boyte is the former Alice Ferris. Grandparents are Lewis Ferris of Crowville, and the late Betty Ferris, and Archie Boyte and the late Charlene Boyte of Winnsboro. Great grandparents are Mrs. Archie Boyte of Natchez, and Mrs. Iva Covington of Brookhaven, Miss.

Turnage of Baskin became the bride of Ollie "Buddy" Jordan of Vidalia. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alice Darlene Turnage of Baskin and James A. Turnage of Winnsboro.

Parents of the groom are Mrs. Eunice Jordan of Vidalia and the late Ollie Lee Jordan. An arch entwined with ivy and bells entwined by white satin ribbon held love birds flanked by branched candelabras holding white candles formed the setting for the ceremony performed by Rev. Glen Stover. Music was furnished by Miss Elizabeth Hilbun.

Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a full length gown of bridal white velvet with long slim sleeves and an empire waist with a scooped neckline and standing collar. Her veil of bridal cloud. was appliqued with chantilly lace and extended to the floor in chapel length, from a headpiece of chantilly lace. The bride carried a cascade of ivory roses with ivy and pearls, showered with white satin streamers. Miss Diane Jackson of Baskin served as maid of Landis Park scene of birthday party Saturday, March 26th, Kim Davis celebrated her seventh birthday at a party in Landis Park.

The party hours were from 2 to 3:30 p.m. The children enjoyed playing on the swings and running and playing in the wide open spaces at the park. After the honoree opened her gifts, Mrs. Davis served birthday cake and cold drinks to Bret and Brian Taylor, LaJan Boone, Shonnye Crum, Terecia Carroway, Scott Parker, Mark and Linda Smith, David and Kristy Smith, Ryan Parks, Kevin Montgomery and Kim Davis. Kristy Young sent a present but was unable to attend the party.
