1 6 THB remains of Mrs. Phoebe I. White, who had died were brought here this morning for interment. Mrs. White left this city last Monday morning to visit her daughter at Peoria.

On her arrival there she was taken violently ill and died several hours after. The funeral took place this morning at 10 o'clock from the cathedral, Rev. Father Snyder officiating. Many friends and relatives from abroad followed the remains to this city. The pall were John Howard, Theodore Sohienne, John Scully, Michael Hennelly and John Sowers.

Wyatt with the murder of D. B.

GIHham, in Upper Alton, on the 18th of March, 1800. After the opening speech of State's Attorney McNulty, in which ho detailed the evidence against each of the defendants the case of the de- fondants was stated by Messrs. T. L. Gardner and W.

P. Bradshaw. The first witness examined was Miss Virginia Qilbam, daughter of the deceased, who was called at a. in. Miss Qilliam detailed the alarm on the night of the murder and the 1 subsequent finding of.

Yesterday we published a notice of Mr. Joseph Hold that he would not be for any debts his wife might contract, as aho had left his bed and board. To-day the TELEGRAPH had a visit from Mrs, Held. She does not soem to be oast down at all. This was her second marriage.
