A couple of good tides will carry a lot of that water out into the Gulf, but there is a lot to be taken care of. At Liberty where the Trinity flood stage is 14 feet, the river has peaked at 19.95 feet, and is out of its banks past 1-10, spilling over into Cotton Lake and Jack's Pocket. Galveston — Sand trout and whiting headed the list of panfish being caught at the beach piers. There were a" few flounder and sheephead on the stringers. One fisherman had 64 sand trout, another had 67 whiting. Beach water temperature warmed up to 65 degrees. Lake Livingston — Catfishing really turned on in the wake of the rains which sent lots of water into the lake from way up the river. Nearly every trotliner on the lake reported limits of catfish the last few days. Lake Conroe — Too much wind kept many fishermen at home the last few days, so there were not too many reports of good fishing on the lake. Toledo Bend — Spinners, crank baits, and big spoons working 30 feet deep were taking all kinds of black bass at Carmichael's Marina. Wind, water and tides — Winds will be southerly 20 to 25 mph. Temperature range will be from the low 60s to the low 80s. Trinity and Galveston bays will be rough. Offshore wave heights will be six to eight feet. Galveston beach water temperature is 65 degrees. Friday, Galveston beach high tides will be at 3:11 a.m. and 8:09 p.m. Low tides will be at 12:30 a.m. and 12:33 p.m. Pacific Division Seattle 15 2 .882 — Los Angeles 14 3 ,824 1 Phoenix 11 6 647 4 Portland 9 9 .500 6' 3 OoldenSlate 5 11 .313 9' 2 San Diego 3 14 .176 12 Wednesday's Games Boston 122. Thursday's Games Tulane at Rice Texas Ail at Texas A&M Siena Heights at TCU ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Linebacker Jack Reynolds, who holds the distinction of playing in the Super Bowl for both Los Angeles and San Francisco, will be on the 49ers' side tonight when they take on the Rams in a crucial National Football League game for both teams. Reynolds remains bitter about being dropped by Los Angeles after the 1980 season following a contract dispute. He played with the Rams for 11 seasons and led them in tackles several times, including his final year. Reynolds played with the 1979 Rams, who went to the Super Bowl. After being signed by San Francisco as a free agent last year, he helped the 49ers win last January's Super Bowl over Cincinnati 26-21. Against 'the Rams last year, Reynolds made 18 tackles. He gets another chance for revenge tonight in LCNetters Win The Lee College tennis team downed Galveston, 8-5 on its home court Wednesday. In the singles division, Richard Pattison from Deer Park took up the slack for longtime teammate Ray Smith, who was out with hepatitis, by playing his match in addition to his own and winning both. Pattison defeated Peter Ecos, 6-0,6-3, and Bill Philibut, 6-2, 6-3. In other singles division, Rhonda Mouton, a graduate of Beaumont South Park just a couple weeks removed from the Rebel volleyball team, defeated Jill Pehnke, 7-6, 0-6, 6-2. Robert E. Lee graduate Michelle Williams beat Dee Ann Haney, 7-5, 6-3, and Doug Haynes, another REL grad, defeated Luis Aguilar, 6-3, 6-1. The Rebels No. 1 doubles team of Freddy Marques and Haynes defeated David Poelzl and Mark Spoonts, 6-2, 6-1. Other doubles' winners for the Rebels included Deer Park graduate Tommy Heim and Beaumont South Park graduate Chris Simien, who defeated Jesse Villareal and Aguilar, 7-6, 6-3. Williams and Mouton beat Haney and Pehnke, 6-3, 6-4. Channelview Beats King CHANNELVIEW (Sp) - Channelview fought it out with closely-matched Sheldon King Tuesday night and won, edging the Panthers, 63-59. Troy Osborne paced the Falcons with 17 points, followed by Jesse Harri? and Alan Wisdom with 12 points each. Harris had 10 rebounds. Sam Ogden pulled in four rebounds. CE King was led by Phil Convica with 16 points. Teammates Jay Hudson and Doug Pruett scored 12 and 10 points, respectively. a nationally televised game at Anaheim Stadium. Kickoff time is 9 p.m., EST. The loser will have an extremely difficult time making the expanded playoffs with eight NFC teams qualifying for post-season action. Both clubs bring 1-3 records into the action, and both will have four games remaining afterwards. Many wonder why Reynolds was released and he is outspoken in saying he doesn't believe the Rams' management treated him fairly. He says it was the treatment rather than the money that brought the split. He remains so unhappy that he refused interviews with the Los Angeles media this week. San Francisco Coach Bill Walsh, who installed Reynolds as his inside linebacker on the strong side, has said, "If there is one key factor or individual that we can point to for our success in 1981, it is Reynolds." The Rams were forced to switch quarterbacks for this game. Bert Jones aggravated a nerve problem in the team's 20-14 victory over Kansas City last Sunday and the team physician ordered him to stay out of action. So the job goes to Vince Ferragamo, who played on the Rams' Super Bowl team and set several passing records: in 1980. Then, after a contract battle, he went to Montreal of the Canadian League for an ill-fated 1981, but returned to the Rams when a money agreement was reached. San Francisco swept last year's two games between the clubs, snapping a nine-game Rams' winning string in the bitter intrastate series. Los Angeles had swept from 1977 through' 1980, and had reached the playoffs eight straight years prior to its 6-10 finish of last season. 422-8208 CITY TIRE 1316 N.
