Inclusive, of the denomination of $1,000 each, dated April 1, 1993, interest payable October 1. 19S4, and •emiannuolly thereafter on April 1 and October 1 of each year, and become due and payable 9343,000 on October 1 of each of the yeata 1984 to 10S8, Inclusive, $248,000 on October 1 of each ot the year* 1939 to 1963, inclusive, »2B2,000 on October 1 of each of the years 1964 and 1989, $277.000 on October I at etch of the yean 1966 and 1987, $279,000 on October 1 1968. $288,000 on October 1 of each of the years 1969 and 1970, $276,000 on October 1, 1971, and $291.000 on October 1, 1972. Principal and Interest will be payable at such bank or trust company In the City of Chicago, Illinois, aa may be agreed upon between the purchaser and the District. Said bonds were authorized at an election held in and for said School District on February 7, 1953, for the purpose of purchasing additional school •ites, constructing new school buildings, building additions to existing buildings and building and equipping an athletic field and stadium. i Said bonds may be registered as to principal only in the name of the holder on the books of the treasurer who receives the taxes of said District. Said Bonds will be general obligations of said School District payable from nrt val- orem taxes levied upon all the taxable property in 'Said School District without limitation as to rate or amount. The. assessed valuation of taxable property In the School District for the year 1003 as equalized and determined by the State, Department of Revenue is $141,292,314.00. The total aggregate Indebtedness of the School District of every kind and character whatsoever will be after the issuance of these bonds $6,016,108.69, The population f? the laid District is approximately 90,000. Said bonds will be awarded to the responsible bidder on the basts of the lowest interest cost to the School Dl«\ trlct, but no bid will be considered providing for more than throe different Interest rate*, and each interest rate shall be in multiples of one-fourth of one per cent or one-tenth of one per cent, and all bonds of the same maturity shall bear interest at the same rtte, and no bid will be considered for less than par or bearing an interest rate greater than three per cent (3%\ per annum. In determining ' the best bid the interest cost to the District will be computed by determining the Interest from April 1, 1053, to maturity, at the rate or rates specified by the bidder after deducting therefrom any premium offered. Bids must be for all and not a part of (aid bonds. Bids will be opened at a meeting of the Board of Education to tie held at the office of said Board of Education at 7:30 o'clock, P. M., D. S. T., on Wednesday, the 13th day of May, A. D. 1953, at 'which time and place the bids will be publicly read and the award made to the successful bidder. Said bonds will be delivered with the unqualified approving opinion of Chapman and Cutler, Attorneys, Chicago, Illinois, and said opinion is to be paid for by said School District, the printed bonds to be supplied by the successful bidder, and all 'bids must be so conditioned. Each bid must be accompanied by • certified or cashier's check drawn on a state or national bank and made payable to the Township School Treasurer of Alton Community Unit School District Number 11, Madison County, Illinois, in- the sum ot $75,000, as a guarantee of good faith, and for security for the "performance of such bid, and as liquidated damages in case a successful bidder fails to take up and pay for the bonds. All proposals should be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked on the outside "PROPOSAL, FOR BONDS," and' addressed to GEORGE L. DAVIS, Secretary of the Board of Education of said Alton Community Unit School District Number 11. Madison County, Illinois, in the City of Alton, Illinois. The bonds will be delivered at the expense of the District to such bank or trust company in the City of Chicago. Illinois, as may be mutually agreeable between the purchaser and the District. The bonds will be delivered at the option of the purchaser at any bank or trust company in the City of New York, all expense of such delivery, including travelling expense of the officials of the District, to be paid by the purchaser.
