Other charter members are Wayne Trade School Entrance Exams Start Monday Knighton Director of the Florida Parishes Vocational School has announced that Entrance- Tests for the Summer School Session will be given on Monday and Tuesday June 14 and 15 Anyone interested in attending school full time or for the summer session only should come by and place their name on the listor report for the tents at 8:00 am on Monday June 14 High school students who have completed the ninth grade and or of 16 years of age are eligible to enroll for the summer session and may with the approval of their high school principal earn a high school credit The courses offered will be in Auto Mechanics Business Training and Welding Classes' will be from 7:00 a to 1:00 pm daily Since the summer will run from June 14 through July 30 June 14 and 15 will be the only dates Entrance Tests will be given until the fall semester begins Teenage MOD Report Tangipahoa Parish teenagers contributed to the 1971 Teen March of Dimes Drive according to an announcement this week by Buffie Freiler parish Teen Action Program Chairman Miss Frefier expressed appreciation for the many hours of dedicated effort spent by Tangipahoa teenagers in attaining this goal Their accomplishment in behalf of the struggle to fight birth defects would have been impossible without the assistance of interested citizens of all age Jimmie Lestage Parish March of Dimes Chairman announced that the total amount was contributed by teens through parish schools as follows: Amite High School $101569 Hammond High School $81846 Loranger honor at Log Cabin Park in Ponchatoula on the afternoon of Sunday May 30th Barham is shown above beating a beat with Wiayine Morse and band who provided music for the occasion It was politics in the old style amidst a colorful background of banners hunting and flags country music square dancers and stirring oratory Senator Barham spoke on his campaign theme of Integrity and Among other measures he called for the revision of the state constitution and the repeal of the two-term amendment for the governor He promised if elected to be an independent lieutenant governor with obligations to no one but the people Senator Barham and his party had visited the Champ Moore Confederate Cemetery' near Tangipahoa on Saturday and he paid tribute to the men of Tangipahoa Parish who had fallen in all wars Prominent among elected officials in' the crowd of some 200 people were Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Frank Edwards Clerk of Court Mrs Estelle Stire and Ponchatoula Mayor Ou-frenche Jr Senator
