Upper D*t Moin«j Tuesday, March 12, 1968 Mrs. Simpson Algona, Dies; Funeral Held Funeral services for Mrs. Rosman Simpson, 77, Algona, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Methodist Church here. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery at Wesley, with Garry Funeral Home, Bancroft, in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Simpson died of heart failure late Monday night, March 4, at a hospital in Mason City. She fell and broke her hip about three weeks ago and had been hospitalized since. Born Elva Liming Aug. 10, 1890 at Moroa, 111., she grew up there. She was married to Rosman Simpson Feb. 7, 1907, at Corwith. They farmed in the Burt area until Mr. Simpson's death in 1957. She then resided in Burt until 1961 when she moved to Algona. Survivors include two sons, Charles of Spokane, Wash., and Dwight of Algona; one daughter, Mrs. Millard Hotz of Cedar Rapids, nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Rev. C. L. Liming, Radcliffe. Area Girls Are Rated Highly In Hairstyling Bettie Riedel, Mary Dorweiler, Cyndi Schumacher and Becky Bilyeu, Algona; Ruth Hofer, Bode; Bernita Johnson, Burt; Barbara Ann Kunkel, Corwith; Renee Douglas and Diane Vaudt, Fenton; Ruth Baumann, Lakota; and Jeannette Ruhnke, Whittemore, all students of cosmetology, received honorable mention for their creative hair styles at the 15th annual student hair styling contest, sponsored by the LaJames College of Hairstyling of Mason City. The contest was presented Tuesday evening, March 5, in the Moose Lodge Club/ The hair styles derived from the new "Living Portrait," were combed at 7:15 p.m. in view of an audience of some 700 guests. Among the 65 contesting students, the professional judges chose these students' hair styles to be among the winners. Trophies were awarded at 9:00 p.m. KOSSUTH COUNTY'S FAVORITE NEWSPAPER!!
