Pictured is Iva Brady, second from left, activities director, with a group participating in craft creations. Quaker Manor Provides Services, Facilities For Exceptional Care "It costs no more to enjoy the best!" At least, this is the situation a I Quaker Manor, Jnc., nursing facility with special care at 4403 74th St., phone 7950668, in Lubbock. Established two years ago as a locally operated enterprise, Quaker Manor, Inc., has been quite well accepted, as indicated by its full occupancy and a waiting list. Qualifying for old age assistance and welfare as an Extended Care Facility, Type y, Quaker Manor provides 96 beds, and the exceptional care is correctly hinted by the large staff of 60 employes and the spacious facilities throughout. Janell Burns, lifelong Lubbock resident with eight years experience in the nursing home field, is administrator. Linda Bryan, RN, is director of nursing. Two LVNs are on duty to provide 24-hour-a-day care. All residents must have doctors' referral, and all medications are by doctors' orders. No extended contract period is involved, and residence can be for any length of time, in no instance necessarily permanent. Physical facilities and the qualified and "interested" personnel make Quaker Manor living a most pleasant experience, more than a few residents will attest. Many Activities Planned activities are a part of the program, including games, entertainment and numerous craft pursuits. An activities director is included on the staff, aiding in knitting projects, crochet, art work, etc. Church services of interdenominational nature are conducted twice each Sunday by local ministers. Everything possible seems to have been done to help the residents enjoy living! Visitors Welcomed Visitors are welcomed and encouraged at any time — just like home. Both the single and double rooms are completely furnished, but occupants may substitute their own items, if desired, or add to the furnishings with a "favorite chair, etc." of their own. All rooms are wired for television, and there is a color TV in the large and comfortable recreation area. A dietician, on cunsulting status, and a full-timd dietery supervisor assure nutritious, attractive meals. "Folks seem to enjoy living at Quaker Manor, Inc.," one discovers even upon a short visit there. Isn't this a good recommendation? El Paso Wholesale, Lubbock Division, Emphasizes Availability, Cost Savings "Mr. Retailer, have you stocked adequately for the summer outdoor season? Or are you prepared to secure on short notice the items that customers find they must have at a particular time?" "Then you should form the habit of relying upon El Paso Wholesale Company Lubbock Division that performs a distinct service to retailers throughout West Texas and New Mexico." Savings in costs, assurance of availability, knowledge of the products preferred in the area . . all these are part of the very convincing reasons El Paso Wholesale Co. can serve better. 'Lubbock's Most Complete" Located at 206 23rd St., phone 747-1841, the El Paso Wholesale Company Lubbock Division takes pride in being Lubbock's most complete retail supplier, performing a convenience and moneysaving service to its rapidly expanding list of customers. Maybe the need is for seasonal items. El Paso Wholesale Company has these — in the well-known and reliable brands. These are among the lines available right here at the Lubbock facility: Ben Pearson, Ajay, General Sportscraft, Champion Glove, Rawlings, Spalding, Boss, Grossman Arms; Daisy, Coleman, Stratton & Terstegge, Zebco, Garcia, Remington Arms, Outers, Wilson, Black & Decker, Toro and others. Hundreds of others are included in the stock presented and in demand the year around. In analyzing the benefits afforded by El Paso Wholesale Co., consider freight. Doesn't it make sense that savings are enabled throughout the area by virtue of the big-stock Lubbock warehouse and the savings in freight? In Ihe past this type and scope of merchandise for most was purchased out of the Dallas- Fort Worth area, with longer hauls and greater freight bills involved. Then there is the "know how" of the management. Bill Hart, buyer and office manager, has 25 years of. related experience, managing retail stores on the South Plains and in Lubbock, serving as buyer and in other capacities. His knowledge of the trade not only saves for the retailer (and ultimately the consumer) but selective buying is noted from lines and brands that denote quality and acceptance in the southwest. A wealth of experience is in- corporated in the El Paso Wholesale Company operation. (Though the Lubbock Division was opened in early 1973r the El Paso Division is one of the older concerns of its type.) Customers include auto supply houses, toy stores, service stations, grocery and hardware stores, sporting goods stores, etc. Throughout the retailing industry, any store likely can profit from knowing and trading at El Paso Wholesale Company. Even merchandising and promotion aids are a service of the business. New customers and old are given evey consideration and are invited to rely upon this firm that has full-line coverage. From Abilene west through all New Mexico, retailers can reap the benefits from patronizing this Lubbock company. If acquaintance has not been made with Lubbock's most complete retail supplier, El Paso Wholesale Company Lubbock Division, wouldn't now be the time to learn of the savings and conveniences in involved? SUMMER NEEDS INCLUDED - Supplying retailers from its huge Lubbock warehouse, the El Paso Wholesale Company Lubbock Division carries a full and selective stock (as buyer-office manager Bill Hart indicates in a segment of the facility where fertilizers and lawn food is stacked), saving in money and convenience to regional retailers.
