BEAUTY BEAT The New Face of Fall Comes A'Qlow Lightly By MARIE DAVID Suddenly, Summer slips away ... But a Summer face does not slip into Autumn elegance with quite the grace of the first falling leaf .. . Soon enough, "sallow" will replace "sunny," and that hint of sheen will become merely a shiny impediment to good looks. Even though you can't tell by the temperature, a new season is nearly upon us. August attunes our thoughts and yearnings to tawny-toned things to come; to the zest of new doings, new sights, nippy mornings, fabulous fashions. . . . Facing fashion facts for Fall will be the paled-down countenance "fini en matte," so say the beauty prophets. We know all the woes: your last Spring's makeup isn't right, and your suntan shades are too dark. And considering faces first in your new Fall fashions, how can your in- between skin be expected to tell which of the beautiful will be best? Too bad the change-over isn't a 24 hour episode of sunlessness. Thank goodness the embellished cosmetic case can carry you through the interim! The first step is a positive elimination of a negatively fading tan. A minor revolution may be in the making-up with a filmy, translucent fluid like Countess Isserlyn No. O, which minimizes under-eye shadows and tiny skin imperfections while it lightens and neutralizes a pallid complexion. Another illuminating liquid is White Secret, a kind of beauty "milk" you may use to highlight eye area or "character lines" around the mouth... or as an altover lightener under regu* lar powder, an effect particularly sensational by moonlight! Light up your face now with makeup made to span seasons. But year-'round, the youngest thing a skin can be is ... moist. Because of the generally "strong" climate in our country, the steam- heat and air conditioning, we luckiest of ladies are liable to the national problem of dehydrated skin. The difference between dry and moist skin is the difference between young and old. Youthful skins draw natural moisture from the air and body to plump up the soft cushions of tissue beneath the surface. When the cushion dries out, the skin sags and becomes wrinkled and "old. 1 * One delightful formula for this dilemma is Super Moist Beauty Emulsion: a treat that breathes velvet onto the skin, works sub-strata to put pores back on a do-it-yourself basis! Try Super Moist on a personal recommendation! (You can obtain samples.) (For shopping Informalion, call HE 9-2781, Ext. 46.
