a-B THE BAYTOWN SUN Wednesday, December 1, 1982 Cookies Conform To Low-Sodium Diet Here is a spiced sugar cookie that is low in sodium calories. SPICED SUGAR COOKIES 1V4 cups flour 1 teaspoon low sodium baking A HEARTY luncheon salad becomes the star of the meal with a variety of ingredients combined with salad dressing mix. Salad Pleases Crowd Serving a crowd these days can be a fun challenge when you combine a few basic ingredients — a little imagination .— a little budget — and a spectacular salad. This is the formula for this main course Hearty Luncheon Salad that will become a mainstay for easy luncheon or supper entrees. This salad combines macaroni, ham, vegetables and cheese complemented by cheese garlic salad dressing mix. HEARTY LUNCHEON SALAD 2 cups elbow macaroni 3 quarts (about) boiling salted water % cup prepared garlic or cheese garlic salad dressing Vi cup mayonnaise 1M> cups sliced celery Vz cup grated carrot % cup sliced radishes 1 medium green pepper, chopped 1 small onion, sliced 3 medium tomatoes, cut in eighths ',*> pound sliced broiled ham, diced '£ po.und sliced process American cheese, diced Cook macaroni in boiling salted water in large saucepan until tender, about Drain. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool on wire racks. This kitchen tested recipe makes about 3 dozen (2 mg. sodium, 44 calories per cookie).
