Jin Cesario (number 44, pictured at top), substituting for injured standout Jim Stack, scored unmolested to start the tMrd quarter, but the Scoreboard told the story of the VI kings' aphill battle to reach the ceiling of the state. Coach Chock Schwarz (above right) kept Ms hopes alhe, until U was apparent this was not to be the year. Captain Ed Krnszka (above, left) reflected on his last day as a M^i school player, holding the fourth place trophy. Drives just as this by Cesario (above, defended by Peoria Central's Marc Ufley, 45) fell short of the mark, as did those blunt ed by De to Salle's Ray Rhone (left) in the third place contest won by the Meteors.
