The city, was left without any public transportation except taxicabs when the Texarkana Transit Co. suspended operations March 3. It said it was losing money. Later the city councils of both Texarkana, Tex., and Texarkana, Ark., granted a charter to the i American Transit Co. of St. Louis, Mo., which has statrod the new service. j Tlie new firm is operating tho j same routes as did Tcxartami I Transit, with the addition of a new bus to Texarkana Junior College, three miles outside the city.
