Weddings HouBer--Robrback Miss Myrtle Rohrb«ck, daughte: of Mrs. Myrtle Rohrback, Pt. o Rocks, was married to Charles Tan ner Houser, of Bakerton, son of Mr and Mrs. Ernest Houser. in the Lutheran church at Ooubs, on Sept. 20. Rev. Roger Gobbel off! dated at the double ring cere mony. , Mrs. Jean Holler was matron o honor and Jack Holler was thi best man. The bride wore a green gabardine suit with black accessories and a corsage of white carnations. Following the ceremony a recep tion was held at the bride's home The groom, who returned from Korea in June, is now stationed a Pine Camp, N. Y., serving as S. F. C. and the bride is now residing in Watertown, N. Y. Before entering the Army S. F. C. Houser served in the Navy, spending most of the time in the South Pacific. The bride is a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1951. Personals Carroll W. Cover, radarman seaman, USN, brother of Mrs. Herman J. Koutz, of 526 Lee Place, serving aboard the escort aircraft carrier USS Mindoro, participated in Atlantic Fleet Exercise 52, the gigantic fleet maneuvers held in Caribbean waters. Mrs. Stella Jones, of Miamisburg O., is spending several weeks with her brother and sister. Mr. Calvin M. Huffer and Mrs. Cecelia Lutman, at Broad Run. Among The Sick Mrs. J. H. Rinker, Brunswick, who has been a patient in the Washington County Hospital. Hagerstown, for the past ten days, is getting along nicely, following an operation and returned home Wednesday evening. Miss Elizabeth Ferrell. near St. Mark's, was removed from the Frederick Memorial Hospital to her home, by ambulance. Local C. Of C. Included In National Survey A comprehensive study of the Frederick Chamber of Commerce is included in the 1951 survey of local Chambers of Commerce made by the Chamber of Commerce of the United States and received at the local chamber offices today. The local Chamber is one of 745 selected for a study which is the most detailed analysis of the effective and embracive activities of America's local Chambers of Com- I merce ever prepared by the National Chamber's Commercial Organization Department. The fifty-six page bc-oxiet, which is the fifth survey of this kind made by the national organization since 1938 may well be called the Chamber of Commerce Executive's Bible. It tells him virtually everything he needs to know on a comparative basis as to how Chambers throughout the country operate. The study is submitted in threi | sections. The first deals with mem bership and income; the second de scribes organization structure, in eluding staff and quarters data and the third section details Cham her of Commerce activities anc services. Many of the results are submitted in terms of averages, such as aver age income in dollars or averag percentage of income expended for staff salaries and chamber quarters The National Chamber points ou I that the averages as applied to the 'population groups do not always supply information me local chamber requires. If the local chamber wants information about incomes for instance, of chambers more near its own size, the Commercial Organization Department will make a special analysis along that line if requested. "A statistical report of this nature requires careful study if we are to gain the most good from it,' said President Edward Hartmann, |of the local Chamber in commenting on the survey. "We'll use this survey as a yardstick to measure the effectiveness of our own Chamber." Painting Contractors Sherwin-Williams Guests Twenty-five painting contractor* were dinner guests Wednesday eve- nlnf at the VFW Club o£ the Sherwin-Williams paint store. Peter Petersen, company salesman, presided and spoke on the company's color style guide. A half-hour movie on the same subject was shown. The dinner began at 8 o'clock, G. V. Rice i« manager of the local store. When the Pacific horned lizard Is frightened, it squirts blood from its eyes. The play was "Fresh Fields" by Ivor Novello. The three-act comedy was the players' first production of the season presented in mid- November for local audiences at Winchester Kali. Arrangements for - the showing were made through the local tuberculosis group Dr. Edwin H. Spon- eller president of. the Frederick County Tuberculosis Association, and Dr. I Lyon, who is in charge of local clinic and is resident physician of the hospital. In addition to the regular members of the cast, giving the production were Jack Doll in charge of pre-arrangement production details and lighting; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Berger in charge of props; Mrs. Krebs Benchoff and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Turner in charge of cos- es; Walker Jolliffe in charge the transportation; Miss Edna Measell stage manager. Cast members: Mrs. Justin Reinhart, Mrs. Vincent Ruwet, Tom Glass, Mrs. Vincent Chiodi Gay Fink, J. Paul Thomas, William Cleaver, Delores Snyder, Betty Carey, and Mrs. Thomas Quill. The production was done with a minimum of props and lighting. In true "theater-in-the-round" style, the lights served as a curtain for scene changes and acts. iJCostuming was complete, however. The staff of the Victor Cullen Hospital assisted with -electrical work, and worker as ushers and distributed the programs. All expenses of the, production were in- cured by the Community Players. "Honey," said the. husband, "I'd be the happiest man in the world if you could bake broad like my mother could."
