An exterior sign pertaining to the uses conducted on the premises and the owner thereof, and not exceeding in the aggregate two square feet in area for each lineal foot of the building frontage may be permitted by the Board for any of the uses provided for in Section 11.304 or 11.305, where said B-O District abutts upon any 'B' or M' District, providing that no such sign shall exceed 25 feet in height if free-standing, and if attached to a building no such sign shall project more than three (3) feet above the parapet wall or roof line but if attached shall not exceed 25 feet in height above ground level, and further providing that said sign shall be located within five (5) feet of the adjoining 'B' or 'M' Districts and shall not be closer than 125 feet to any 'R' District on which the sign faces. A double-face sign shall be counted and measured as one sign. This section shall be inapplicable in a "Historic Frederick" District as defined in Section 5-17 of Chapter 5, Article 3 of the Code of the City of Frederick.
