March 16.1977 7 Three super nights were Monday, ITuesdayi Wednesday, March 7,8,9, as superstar Tom Jones performed in his dynamic and exciting way in the Columbian Supper Club of tfee Condesa del Mar in Alsip. Pictured on this page are highlights of the opening night. :] Singer Tom Jones took time: .between songs to talk with some who crowded around the stage, and accepted a rose or two from his ardent admirers. The giant stage was crowded with musicians, as the big orchestra with vocal narmonizers backed the star of the night; this picture shows Tom entering, singing as he came onto the stage. The Jones personality shone like a beaming light as many of Tom's fans approached him at stage- side to hold his hand, to present him flowers and gifts and even, some were kissed. ...,. . . · " · · . ' - ' } The ladies were delighted, the, audience was enthralled, as more and more femme fans^came to Tom to be kissed, and even the husbands joined in th»applause.. - ' \ Tom Jones was welcomed to the Condesa del Mar by the establishment's owner, Steven P.
