MINOCQUA, Wis. — Attention shoppers! Enjoy a fun evening of shopping with "fishy" specials and chances to "reel" in & "catch of the day" on your merchandise or meal at participating businesses in the Lakeland area during Reel in the Deals Night, 6 to 9 p.m., Monday, July 20. A variety of mini seminars such as knot tying, slip bobbers, boat set-up, hooking bait, and rods and reels will be conducted by local fishing guides at Torpy Park 6 p.m. THE DAILY GLOBE, Ironwood, Ml — Tuesday, June 30,1998 Classic boats event July 24-26 MINOCQUA; wia. — July rounds out with the seventh annual Antique and Classic Wooden Boat Show, July 24-26, at Bosacki's on Lake Minocqua, sponsored by the Minocqua-Arbor Vitae-Woodruff Chamber of Commerce, More than 60 boats are expected to dock at Bosacki's Boat House' for the weekend show, with several displayed on land and several antique "woodie" cars, too. A Friday night boat parade will kick off the Min-Aqua Bat water ski show as participating captains and their boats are acknowledged before the ski show audience at 6:45 p.m. Boats will be on display for public viewing Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. (several will be for sale), and attendees will have the chance to enter their favorite boat in the "People's Choice" voting. Captains have the opportunity to cruise the Minocqua Chain of Lakes and enjoy the sights of the beautiful Northwoods Saturday evening. Boat show participants will vote for "Best Chris Cm ft" (pro- war and 1941-1965), "Best Century," and "Best All Over." Wooden plaques will be awarded Sunday afternoon for these Captain's Choice categories and the People's Choice. Concessions will also be available near the docks throughout the weekend. Contest participants will be divided into three groups; six and under, 7-11, and 12-17. Come try your casting luck. Everyone wins a great fishing prize. "Reel in the Deals Night started last year and many businesses had a lot of fun with it — costumes, discount games and all!" said Jodi McMahon, Chamber events coordinator. "Many local residents who don't get off work until 5 p.m. or later also get a chance to visit shops that normally close at 5, and visitors can enjoy a night of extended shopping hours."
