THE BAYTOWN SUN Sunday, April 27, 19M Glorylond plans family picnic time • Gloryland Way Church, 7123 Decker, will have a family picnic from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Members are to provide the food and the church will provide the drinks. Various types of recreational activities are planned. Workers with children and junior youth will meet at the church for a planning session at 1 p.m. Saturday. Sue Jones, associate minister, will discuss work needs and demands. Sunday services begin at 10:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. with the Rev. Tommy Meekins ministering. Children and junior youth will meet during the morning hour and the youth will have a meeting following the night's praise service. Hour of Prayer is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 7 p.m. Wednesday. "These times are opportunities for people to gather for the sole purpose of prayer. We invite anyone to join us who is desirous of a place to join with others for the purpose of communicating with God," Meekins said. Community church moves Baytown Community Church will move into its new church building at 915 E. Lynchburg Cedar Bayou Road Sunday. The 130 member congregation has been meeting at Walden Oak Private School at 3110 Baker Road. ', The Rev. Jim Owen has been pastor of the church for the six years it has been in existence. Morning worship is at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. Sunday school is at 11 a.m. Sunday. Mid-week service is at 7 p.m. Wednesday. "Baytown Community Church is a group of Christians who have joined themselves together for the purpose of glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ," Owen said. The church is an independent evangelical church with leadership provided by a body of elders, Owens added. For more information call 4278623. Faith-Life hosts special speaker Faith-Life Center Church, 209 Pleasant in Highlands, will begin Sunday school and Bible study at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Larry Raines will preach at 11 a.m. on "The Invisible Man." Children's church will begin at 11:30 a.m. Former missionary to South and Central America, the Rev. Steve Barley of Houston Revival Center, will preach al 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Women of the church will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for a salad supper fellowship. At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Raines will teach "Justification by Faith." THOMAS FOSTER, a decorated Vietnam veteran, will present "What You Should Know a three-night series of Bible lessons, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Woodrow Wilson Junior High School auditorium in Dayton. Foster is minister of the Fifth Ward Church in Houston. The lessons are being sponsored by Dayton Church of Christ.
