Here are three: "Pnrr-fectly Delicious Pet Recipes" by the Roosevelt Junior Woman's Club. Proceeds benefit the Cancer Society and the Stay-in-School Program of the Citizens Committee on Respect for Authority. Book includes recipes from such notables as Walt Disney, Princess Grace of Monaco, Mmes. Paul Fannin, Barry Goldwater, Bob Hope, Hubert Humphrey, Aristotle Onassis and others. , Mrs. t)ale Trostle, cookbook^ chairman, says there are only about 75 copies left. Price is $3.25. Books are available from Mrs. Paul Martin, club president. "Heavenly Ideas from Chi Omegas Kitchens" by Phoenix Chi Omegas in honor of their 75th anniversary. Proceeds benefit Sunshine Acres Children?' Home in Mesa. Price is $2; books are available through Terez A. Eck- Innd. This is the second successful cookbook for the group, and it includes a few of the outstanding recipes from the first one. In addition to the appetizers through miscellaneous, there are recipes for "preserving" husband and eijildren. "Golden Jubilee Cookbook", by Temple BeBi Israel Sisterhood, published in honor of the Temple's 50th anniversary. Proceeds benefit Sisterhood's philanthropic work. In addition to general recipe favorites, there is a fine collection of traditional Jewish dishes, plus a chapter on low-calorie cooking and a chart of protein and caloric values of foods. Copies ($3.50 each) are available through cochairman Mrs. Samuel D. Nerenberg and Mrs. Oscar Leverant. A recipe sampling from the books follows: OVEN RICE BAKE (Irene Pence) 2 eggs, slightly beaten 2 cups milk % cup of packaged precooked rice chopped cheese, 1-3 cup chopped onions, finely 10 ounces frozen spinach, cooked 1 cup cheddar shredded % teaspoon garlic Salt to taste Combine eggs and milk. Add remaining ingredients Put in baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees F. for 35 to 40 minutes. Serves four to six. SAUERKRAUT RELISH (Noreen Koenlg) 1 large can sauerkraut 1 small can chopped pimiento % cup oil ^ % cup sugar 1 teaspoon caraway seeds Combine ingredients; heat 15 minutes. Serve hot or cold. Keeps well. GRAHAM CRACKER PINEAPPLE TORTE (Sara Conn) Vt pound butter or margarine, melted 32 graham crackers, finely crumbed 1 cup sugar Pinch Of salt 3 tablespoons cornstarch 4 egg yolks 3 cups milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 can (1 pound 4 ounces) crushed pineapple, drained 4 egg whites Vi cup sugar Combine melted shortening and graham crumbs; mix. Set aside one cup. Spread re- maining crumbs on bottom and sides of pan 13x0x1% inches. Mix one cup sugar with salt, cornstarch, beaten egg yolks; add milk gradually. Cook until thick and smooth, preferably atop double boiler. Stir continually. Important: Mixture musf be smooth, no lumps. When thickened, remove from heat. Vanilla. Cool ; Spoon cooled filling evenly onto graham crust. Top with pineapple, spreading evenly. Beat egg Whites until stiff peaks form; Fold in V4<cup sugar. Spread evenly over pineapple.
