Obituaries Wed,, May 6, 1970 DF.S MOINES REGISTER Iowa FiMr After Rain Andrew Meister, 87, of 1409 Clafk st... died Tuesday at the Afti6ricana Nursing Home, 300 Laufel st,, of pneumonia. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Visitation Catholic Church with burial at Glendale Cemetery. ^ Mf. Meister was a native of Metamora, III, and had lived here 35 years. He was a retired employe of Look magazine. Mr. M6isfei* was a. member ofi the Catholic Order of Foresters and Visitation Catholic Church. . Survivors include two sons, Nbrbert of Des Moines, and Roland- of Parkerdam; Cslifrrtwo daughters, MrsrPauLDooley of Des Moines and Mrs. John .Jensen of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday at the. Colonial Funeral Chanel. MRS. LULU PRINCE Mrs. Lulu Prince, 90, of 1800 Watrous ave., died of arteriosclerosis at home Tuesday after an illness of 11 months. Born in Rankin, III., she lived in Des Moines 30 years. She was a member of the Cottage -G-r-o v e Avenue Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern- Star, Daughters of the Nile and Kings Daughters. Services will be at DunnX Funeral Home .at 10 a-.fn. Thursday, with burial at/Rockwell City at 2 p.m. Survivors are ho/ husband, William, and a brother, William J. Sloan of Rockwell City. Su MCDONALD - Marvnr McDonald, 54, a former Des Moines resident, died ay in Garden Grove, Calif. McDonald, who was born 'at Olin, lived in Des Moines for many years before moving to California in 1958. ' Surviving are his wife, Florence; two sons, Marvin and Thomas, both of California; two brothers, Orville and Willard, both of Cedar Rapids, and a sister, Mrs. Alice Lontz of DCS Moines. Services will be Thursday in California. THOMAS G. REYNOLDS (The Register's Iowa News Service) GRINNELL, IA. - Services for Thomas G. Reynolds, 48, controller of General Telephone Co. of the Midwest,, were held here Tuesday. (Red) Barron, 67, director emeritus of Iowa State University Alumni Affairs office, died .Tuesday night at Mary Greeley Hospital here of a lingering illness. . Mr. Barron, who was born in Ward, S.D., is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter. Private services and a memorial service are pending. Cold Front Hits Northern Plains CHICAGO, ILL. (AP) - Sunny and dry weather covered wide areas of the nation Tuesday but a cold front crossed the Northern Plains and rain circled the Great Lakes. Temperatures were in the SOs in the South and in the 70s along the eastern shoreline. Sleet fell in Upper Michigan and light showers and thundershowers spoiled the sunny skies in the lower Great Lakes area. Drizzle dotted the Pacific Northwest.
