TEN THE DECATUR REVIEW Decatur, Illinois, Monday, June 9, 1958. Bashore-Foval Teacher Is Bride Miss Donna Lee Bashore and Donald R. Foval exchanged wedding vows Sunday at 2:30 p. m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev.

Walter L. Reppenhagen ficiating. The bride is a graduate of Millikin University, where she is a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She is now teaching fourth grade at Roach School. Mr.

Foval is a senior at the University of Illinois after serving two years in the Army. He is a member of Delta Phi and is emploved for the summer at the A. E. Staley Co. For her wedding the former -Miss Bashore wore an intermission length gown of embroidered sheer fashioned with tapered sleeves, scalloped neckline, and a torso length bodice that continued into a bouffant skirt, which into a soft chapel sweep.

She carried a cascade of white gardenias mixed with carnations and ivy. Mrs. Beverly Whitsitt the bride as matron of honor in a ballerina length gown of pink organdy over taffeta. The bridesmaids, Miss Jane Hollis and Mrs. Joan McBain, sister of the groom, wore gowns identical to that of the matron of honor in yellow and blue respectively.

All attendants carried bouquets of white carnations and ivy and wore crowns of white split carnations and ivy. Thomas Foval served as' best man for his brother; and ushers were Kenneth Whitsitt, Donald McBain, and Cecil Stradley. The couple received guests immediately after the ceremony, in the church parlor. Mr. and Mrs.

Foval will reside at E. William St. after June 15 following a tour through Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.

Donald G. Bashore of 304 E. Garfield and Mr. and Mrs. Russell J.

Foval, 546 S. Seigel St. Mrs. Donald R. Foval (Photo by Kileen) Decem Debs Adopt Orphan Teen-Agers Send Clothes and Gifts to Korean Chung Ok Soon, third grader living in a children's home in Mokpo, Korea, was adopted bv the Decem Debs in January of 1957.

The teen-agers. conceived the idea of adopting the child when they received a pamphlet from the Christian Children's Fund, Inc. of Richmond, describing such a project. This agency translates the leta paper on "Johnny Appleseed." The following officers also will be installed: Mrs. Herbert H.

Monree Phone 3-7703 Campbell-Hendricks Wearing ballerina gown of Swiss evelet with a basque bodice and a bouffant skirt, Miss Julie Diane Campbell became the bride of Howard Hayes Hendricks on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Grace Methodist Church. The marriage vows were read by Dr. Jual R. Ford, The bride carried a bouquet of white 1 roses and lilies of the valley centered with a white orchid.

Miss. Mary Aichele, maid of honor, wore a gown of coral iridescent pima silk with a scooped neckline, fitted lace midriff and bouffant skirt. The groom's brother, John Hendricks, served him as best man; and ushers were Donald Noehre, Thomas McCracken, Steven Shellabarger, and Charles A. Hall. A reception was held at the church after the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. Hendricks will be at home at 1009 W. Main St. after June 15 following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin.

Mr. Hendricks is a June graduate of Millikin University, where he is a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity. He is an employe of the Herald and Review. His bride is employed as a utility clerk at the Illinois Power Co. Parents of the couple are Mr.

and Mrs. John William Campbell of 949. West Cushing and Mr. and Mrs. Howard S.

Hendricks, Normal. Harris-Guevrekian The First Presbyterian Church was the scene of the wedding of Miss Sharon Lynn Harris and Lawrence Guevrekian June 1 at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John F. Burhorn, dean of chapel at Millikin University.

The bride is a June graduate of MacArthur High School. The groom is a junior at Millikin, Uni-' versity and is associated with WSOY. Her wedding dress of chantilly lace was made with a bouffant waltz length skirt. The basque bodice featured a scooped neckline and tiny sleeves. Miss Dee Ann Ellison was maid of honor.

She wore iridescent aqua chiffon taffeta with bouffant ballerina skirt. Her headpiece consisted of a matching crown of braid and seed pearls. Best man was Donald Rayhill; and Tom Harris, brother of the bride, and Rodney Gable served as ushers. A reception was held in the church parlor following the ceremony. Mr.

and Mrs. Guevrekian will return to Decatur in September from a wedding trip in the East. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George K.

Harris, Sunnyside Road, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Guevrekian, Roslyn, Long Island, New Stogsdill-Walden The wedding of Miss, Carol Lee Stogsdill of James Ross Walden of Forsyth took place Saturday in the Maroa Christian Church. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Wayne Sheeks at 2:30 p.m.

The ballerina length gown of the bride was of chantilly lace and tulle over satin featuring a peter pan collar, molded bodice, and a bouffant skirt. She carried a bouquet of carnations. The couple received guests in the church after the ceremony. They will live in Maroa following a trip to the South. The bride, a June graduate of Maroa High School, is the daughter of Charles Stogsdill and Mrs.

Chung's letters express her gratitude in a polite, formal style.

The Decem Debs keep a complete scrapbook record of their association with Chung. Included in the book are all of Chung's letters, both in the original script and the typewritten translations, as well as handmade cards the little girl has drawn and photographs showing her with her fellow classmates. Chung also receives clothes, money, school supplies, and gifts from her youthful benefactors. Connie Brough reports that the adoption of Chung has taught the club members to plan ahead. Packages which they send must be mailed far in advance of Chung's need since they may be held up in customs checks or delaved for long periods in transit.

wedding Sunday of Arleen Fay Seevers and John Donald Johnson Jr. The Rev. Harold Harsh officiated. The bride is a student at Illinois State Normal University where she is a senior in art education. Mr.

Johnson is employed by General Electric in Bloomington. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Dale Arthur Seevers of 604 E. Arlington Ave.

The bride wore an intermission length dress of white embroidered nylon sheer over taffeta fashioned with a bouffant skirt falling into a chapel train. She carried a white orchid and stephanotis on a white Bible. Miss Jean Anderson was maid honor with Miss Janet Smithand Mrs. Carolyn Banks, cousin of the bride, as bridesmaids. Both the bride and groom are a where graduates of Millikin University, they were elected to Phi Kappa Phi, honorary scholastic: fraternity, and to "Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities." The former Miss Mueller is also a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She will begin work in July as service- representative for Illinois Bell Telephone Co.

in Peoria. Mr. LeFevre, a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity, is associated with Gauger Diehl in Peoria. The bride's chapel length of imported chantilly lace re-embroidered on silk organza with iridescent sequins and pearls had also been worn by her two older sisters in their weddings. The bride's sisters, Mrs. Don D. Pogue and Mrs. Richard 1 Dalpini, attended her as matron of honor and bridesmaid respectively. They wore identical gowns of light blue embroidered cotton satin with contrasting commerbunds, and they carried crescents of blue and white marguerite daisies.

Ben LeFevre served his brother as best man. Fraternity brothers of the groom, Al Schroeder, Wayne Martin, Harold Frost, and Don Pogue and Richard Dalpini, brother-in-law of the bride, were ushers. A reception was held in St. Paul's parish hall following the ceremony. Mr.

Mother, Tot Plunge at YW The summer swimming program at the YWCA is featuring special Mother and Tiny Tot plunge including youngsters to the age of six which will 1 be held on Wednesdays a and Saturdays from 2 to 3 p.m. There will also be a mother-daughter plunge for girls of school age on Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. During the summer session Family Night and Coed plunges will be on Wednesday evenings instead of Tuesday. Family Night is at 7 p.m., Co-ed at 7:45 p.m. There will be the usual Housewives' Swim, on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Open plunges during the season are daily at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., and at 3:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays only. Classes for the first five weeks' session will begin on Monday, June 9. The second series will run from July 14 to Aug.
