HARD1N, Feb. 8 Although apple blossom season seems a long way off, residents of Calhoun County know that it is time to begin making plans for the annual apple blossom week, which will arrive sometime in April. Handling of the crowds and guiding them over the county is a pretty big chore, especially on the particular Sunday when the blossoms are at their best.

The different business clubs of the county get together each year and cooperate for the success of the event. Last year's crowd was probably the largest in history. Committees from the different clubs will meet In the near future to discuss plans for the apple blossom week and to decide the best methods of advertising. At a meeting of the Hardln Chamber of Commerce Monday night, next fall's Apple Festival was also brought up for discussion. An event, like the festival takes months of planning and a lot of hard work.

The dates for next fall's event will be decided by March 6. At this meeting it was also made official that the Calhoun 4-H clubs will be given the day before the festival starts for holding a countywide achievement day program and show. All entrlen will be left for exhibition during the festival. March of Dimes Extended HARD1N According to Miss Carmen Simon, chairman, the March of Dimes collection program will contiue in Calhoun for at least another week. Bad weather and roads have hindered the col lection.

llnrdin Notes HARD1N Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ambrose visited Sunday at the Charles Watts home near Hamburg.

Mr. Ambrose will be ninety- nine years of age next May, Instead of ninety-eight, as stated in a previous news Item. Blacktop roads in Calhoun are suffering from pounding of heavy loads during- the last month of wet weather. This is particularly true on Route 96, where men arc kept busy every day patching breaks.
