Education Research Planned PITTSBURGH fUPD- Westinghouse Electric Corporation las announced opening of a new research facility in Albuquerque for tne development and testing of computer-based educational systems. Dr. VV. E. Shoupp, Westinghouse vice president for research, said the new facility will operate as a behavioral technology department of VVest- inghouse Research Laboratories here. "Innovation in structional materials and methods is basic to the development of a practical cnmputi>ri/.ed educational system." Shoupp said. "Such capability is not usually found in! an industrial research orgnni/a- tion. \Ve expect this new "laboratory to contribute to our goal of an economically feasible (.•'•mputeraed classroom for widespread use in the nation's s< hool systems."
