Norwood-Quail Meet in Key Game Feb. 11 : The Quail Quaifs and Bob- wh<ites will hbsi the Samnorwood Eagles and Eaglettes in important* District- 9-B basketball games on Tuesday night, Feb. 11. The girls game will start a* 7:00. The Samnorwood girls are co-leaders while Quail boys are leading by one game over Norwood. The only mark on the Quails district record caine at the hands of Samnorwood, while the Norwood boys have lost to HedTey and Groom. In District B Tournament The Skyrocket B teams will play in tihe district B team tournament at Shamrock Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7 and S, Coach HaroM Lamb announced. .Wellington girls are tied with Wheeler, in the first round arid the boys are in second place behind Shamrock. • The Rockebte B team has a record of 7 games won and 1 lost, while the boys have won 9 and lost 2. BLIND LEADER RETIRES Lon E. Alsiip, 65, retired after 22 years as director of the Texas State Commission for the Blind. Although blind since birth, he had successful careers in business, politics and government administration. The digger wasp lays it eggs on tarantulas, which serve as food for the young wasp. The Rockets -went on the road for the last two games. Wellington-Childrcss The Rocket freshmen won over the Bobcat freshmen 30 to 19 in a game that was never close. Mike Smith was high scorer for Wellington with 21 points; Paul Camp and Elton Shires got 5 each for Childress.
