Whitehead, son of Donna J Cook and stepson of Jimmie C Cook of Baytown, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, During the six weeks of training the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations. In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the community college of the Air Force. He is a 1986 graduate of Ross S. Sterling High School. .Pvt. Dawn M. Toombs, daughter of Edwin E. and Margaret B. Thompson of Highlands, has completed basic training at Fort Dix, 1ST. J. During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid, and Army history and traditions. Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Richard B. Waller, son of Gaytha Waller of Baytown and Richard A. Waller of Conroe, has graduated from 'the U.S. Air Force aircraft maintenance course at Sheppard Air Force Base. During the course, students w ere taught a ire raft maintenance fundamentals to repair and service one- arid two- engine jet aircraft. Maintenance man a g e m e n t a n d documentation was also taught to assess aircraft readiness capability. Graduates of the course earned credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force. Army Pvt. Latinna J; Van Right, daughter of Edith G. Van Right of Opelousas, La. and Emile Van Right of Liberty, has arrived for duty with the 69th Transportation Company in West Germany. Van Right, an equipment records and parts specialist, is a 1986 graduate of Opelousas High School. Airman Trultt K. McAda, son of George T. McAda of Crosby and Rebecca J. Harrison of Grarinis, Ark., has graduated from the U.S. Air Force wide- band communications equipment course at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss. Graduates of the course were taught to install, operate and maintain special radio equipment and earned credits toward an associate degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force. He is a 1986 graduate of Wickes High School in Arkansas. Cadet Samuel X. Davila, son of Francisco G. and Leonor R. Davila of Channelview, received practical work in military leadership at the U.S. Army ROTC advanced camp at Fort Riley, Kan. The six-week camp, attended by cadets normally between their third and fourth year of college, includes instruction in communications, management and survival training. Successful completion of the advanced camp and graduation from college results in a commission as a second lieutenant in either the U.S. Army, Army Reserve or National Guard for the cadet. Davila is a student at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Army National Guard Private Richard L. Perry, son of Leonora A. Samuels of Channelview, has completed an Army food service specialist course at Fort Dix, N.J. The course trained personnel to prepare and serve food in large and small quantities. Students received training in baking, field kitchen operations and the operation of an Army dining facility. He is a 1987 graduate of Furr High School in Houston. Pvt. Howard G. Large, son of Roy B. and Lou Large of La Porte, has completed basic training at Fort Dix, N.J. During the training, students received instruction in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, first aid and Army history and traditions. He is a 1985 graduate of La Porte High School.
