Sinclair Oil Production Hits Peak At Thad Felton's TULSA—UP— Crude, oil production by Sinclair Oil Corp., reached new heights in 1955, a year-end report to stockholders showed. Tuesday. . The . report, issued by Sinclair headquarters in New York, stated that production of crude oil and other liquid hydrocarbons averaged a record 155,861 barrels per day of 7.5 per cent over 1954. A 'Sinclair subsidiary, Sinclair Oil and Gas Co., is headquartered at Tulsa. Its operations cover crude oil exploration and production in the United States. The Sinclair Crude Oil Co., which is responsible for purchase and sale of crude oil, also is located at Tulsa. •'.''•• Sinclair sales, which hit a record 162.7 million barrels in 1955, boosted total net earnings to 580,709,954, an increase of 8.1 per cent above the $74,623,256 reported for the previous year. The per-share net income for 1955 was SO.01, computed on an average of 13.428,739 shares outstanding during the year, President P. C. Spencer said. . During 1955 a total of 617 wells were drilled in the United States wells, 40 gas wells and 12S dry holes. The total included ; 90 net wildcats, a 41 per cent increase in such exploratory drilling. The corporation listed an extension to the prolific madill field in Marshall county. Oklahoma, as one of its more important successful 'exploratory projects drilled onshore. At the year's end. 10 wells were being drilled in this field.
