ROTARY ENGINE CAR INTRODUCED -Kohei Matsuda, president of Mazda automobiles, shows Jane Powler, Seattle, the company's new rotary engine car at the Seattle Science Center. The car will be available in showrooms in Washington and Oregon during June. It is the world's first rotary engine car manufactured on a large scale. Northwest distributors is Mazda Motors of America, a subsidiary of Toyo Kogyo Co. Ltd., Hiroshima, Japan. Manufacturer's suggested price P.O.E. of the above car is $2,495.00. CAP Wirephoto) PROMOTED - Cpl. William J. Rodgers entered the U.S.M.C. in February 1969, underwent Basic Training at Parris Island, S. C. and received advanced training and attended Supply School at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He is now stationed in Okinawa where he was recently promoted to his present rank. Cpl. Rodgers graduated from Emmitsburg High School in 1966 and is married to the former Ellen Ridinger. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rodgers Jr., Emmitsburg. Taneytown Student In All State Band Sidney Naylor of Taneytown, and a sophomore of Francis Scott Key High School, has been selected to be a member of the 1970 Maryland All State Band. He will be one of two students from Carroll County participating when the band appear sin concert at the Lyric Theatre in Baltimore. Guest Conductor will be Dr. Clarence Sawhill, Director of Bands, U.C.L.A. Sidney has studied trombone under Edward J. Gobrecht of Hanover, Pa. and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Naylor Jr., 310 Taney Drive, Taneytown. STARTED PRECEDENT John Adams started the precedent of a U.S. president now attending the inauguration of his successor.
