6—Algona, (la.) Upper D«t Melnes Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1967 PERSONALS MRS. EMMA Hagg, Algona, and Mrs. Wilbur Christensen and children, Arlys and Allen, West Concord, Minn., returned recently from San Diego, Calif., where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ferry Hagg and family and other relatives. THE FELLOWSHIP CLUB of Trinity Lutheran church held an open meeting last Sunday evening with the Citizens Advisory Committee providing a program on the school bond issue. MH, AND MRS. Richard Bart went to Harmony, Minn, a week ago Sunday and spent the day with Mrs. Burt's brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Hardy. MRS. FRANK BUTTS had as weekend guests the son Robert and family of Des Moines, who spent much time at the Good Samaritan Home with the father, Frank Butts. MR. AND MRS. August Slagle were visited last Sunday by Mr. and Mrs. Roland Jutting, Buffalo Center, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Puglsey, Rush City, Minn. The women are nieces of Mr. Slagle and daughters of the late Mrs, Elva Slagle Mason. The Pugsleys went from here to Arizona to visit his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Duncan, son- in-law and daughter of the Slagles, joined the group. MR. AND MRS. Charles Joens spent last Sunday at Rolfe with the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Joens. THERESE, DAUGHTER of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bradley, has returned from a six week visit in Guatemala with a school friend, Rosa Julia Ellas. Therese has been doing social work atSoledad, Calif., widen is located near San Francisco. Her plans at present are indefinite. MRS. J. D. BURNS was in Des Moines last week to see her husband at Veterans hospital. He is improving considerably tinder new medication and it is hoped he will be able to come home In another week. Mrs. Burns will drive down to get him. LESLIE NORTON is home from Sioux City where she is taking a business course. Her twin sister, Lynn, was home for the weekend. She is attending a school of cosmetology at M:ison City. MRS. ESTHER BARTON was recently visited by her nephew and wife, Mr. and Mrs. James Cook, Jr., Webb. MRS. JOHN HELMERS was visited last weekend by her son, Pete Helmers, wife and sons, Larry and Terry of Milan, m. Sunday they took Mrs. Helmers to Ft Dodge where all spent the day with Mrs. Hslmers Sr.'s son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Wilschusen. \ THE TRINITY LUTHERAN Ladies Aid will meet this Thursday afternoon and the evening circle will meet at 8:15 p. m. Serving on the afternoon com- mittee are Mrs. Freda Clark and Mrs, Marie Caldwell. The ERMAN JAMES, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hansen, was sent to evening serving committee in- the Park Clinic last week for dudes Mrs. Hazel Bleich and tests.
