He married Eugenia Koontz In 1935. Surviving are his wife; son, Clarence F.

He was a retired farmer, a member of Stonington United Methodist Church and was an associate member of Stonington American Legion. He married Betty Walton in 1951. Surviving are his wife; daugh-' ter, Mrs. Richard L. (Nancy Broch of Tuscola; sister, Betty Ebert of Stonington.

(Zeniar Kizer) Edwards, 89, of Mattoon died Saturday (June 27, 1987) in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County. Mrs. Edwards was born in Mattoon, daughter of George A. and Nancy Kizer. She owned and operated the George Kizer Company for 22 years, was a member of Central Community Church, served on Mattoon Library Board, was treasurer of Mattoon Memo- Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson.

Cremation will follow. There will be no visitation. Memorials: donor's choice. Mr. Osborne was born in Allendale, son of Chadd and Beatrice Osborne.

Pilger CHARLESTON Robert S. Pilger, 61, of Charleston died 11:05 p.m. Saturday (June 27, 1987) in Carle Hospital, Urbana. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church, Charleston.

There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Ramsey Cemetery, Ramsey. Caudill-King Funeral Home, Charleston, is handling arrangements. Mr. Pilger was born in Ramsey, son of Fred A.

and Florence Pilger. He was a retired customer service agent for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a veteran of World War H. He married Evelyn Bland in 1947. Surviving are his wife; son, Brent of Mount Zion; daughter, Kathy Pilger of Greenville, S.C.; brother, Norman of O'Fallon; three grandchildren. One brother preceded him in death.

Schmidt FLAT ROCK Walter F. Schmidt II, 49, of rural Flat Rock died 2:30 p.m. Saturday (June 27, 1987) in his home. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Pulliam Funeral Home, Robinson, with visitation 5 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday. Burial will be in Maxwell Cemetery, Flat Rock. Memorials: Lawrence-Crawford Enterprises. Shea PORTERVILLE Katherine Shea, 69, of Porterville died 9:45 a.m. Sunday (June 28, 1987) in her rial Hospital Auxiliary, member of the Literary Club and Panhellenic Club.

She married Dr. Donald Hall Edwards in 1924. He died in 1929. Haney ATWOOD Mrs. Orville (Ber-nadine Cross) Haney, 79, of At-wood died 10:45 p.m.

Saturday (June 27, 1987) in her home of natural causes. Private graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Tuscola Cemetery, Tuscola. There will be no visitation. Born-Wikoff Funeral Home, Atwood, is handling arrangements.

Memorials: donor's choice. Mrs. Haney was born in Mattoon, daughter of William and Maud Cross. She was a member of Mattoon Christian Church. She married Orville Haney in 1928.

He died in 1986. Surviving are her sons, Jack D. of Dyersburg, James H. of Mattoon: daughter, Mrs. Frank (Carole Hamblen of Arthur; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nine great-stepgrandchi-ldren.

Two brothers, one sister and three grandchildren preceded her in death. Hawes LINCOLN Mrs. Marvin (Sue C. Larison) Hawes, 85, of Lincoln, formerly of Springfield, died 5:02 p.m. Saturday (June 27, 1987) in Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Trinity Episcopal Church, Lincoln. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery, Atlanta. Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, is handling arrangements.

Memorials: Trinity Episcopal Church. Mrs. Hawes was born in Peoria, daughter of Harry and Lillian Larison. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Daughters of the King and Abraham Lincoln Chapter of the DAR. She married Marvin W.

Hawes in 1925. He died March 15, 1987. He attended Central United Methodist Church, was a past member of Decatur Zoning Board, past member of the American Red Cross, scoutmaster of Troop 15 and a past president of Garfield Little League baseball.

He and his brother were the original coaches for the Junior Football Leauge. He married Mary Sue Armsworth in 1958. She died in 1982. He married Judith Ann Barbee in 1985. Surviving are his wife; sons, Samuel of Champaign; Russell of Decatur; stepsons, Steven Barbee of Mattoon; Mark Barbee of St.

Scaggs Mrs. Gary (Tracey RaNae Berg) Scaggs, 20, of Chrisman, formerly of Decatur, died Monday (June 22, 1987) in her home in the Navy to keep searching for Terance, 20. The Navy, however, says its investigators believe his body fell into the Persian Gulf. The Navy report included interviews with seven survivors who saw Weldon as they rushed to get out of a sleeping area and to their battle stations. Barbara Kiser, whose husband, Stephen, also was among the casualties, said, meanwhile, that discovery of her husband's Bible gave her the strength to face his death.

Nellie Obendorf died in her sleep Saturday at a nursing home here, said her granddaughter Wendy Graves. A diabetic who had undergone two cancer operations in the past four years, Obendorf had been hospitalized periodically and remained disoriented and weak from her ordeal, her daughter, Debra Graves, said. Obendorf, and her husband, Orville, 71, a retired hop farmer, became stranded during a spring blizzard as they were driving to visit Mrs. Obendorf 's sister in the southeastern Kansas town of Iola.
