and Mrs. Kenneth A. Barton of Eugene, Oregon, and Buddy Dye of Dexter, Oregon, will exchange wedding vows, September 6, 1969, in Oregon. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Vollie L. Dye of Jonesboro. The' bride-elect is a graduate of North Eugene High School, and is attending Lane Community College. The groom -elect graduated from Jonesboro Hodge High School and is also attending Lane Community College in Oregon. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT PFC and Mrs.

Reginald B. Brock announce the birth of: a son, Gregory Allan Brock. He was born July 27 in the Hodge Clinic. Private Brock is now serving with the 11th Armed Calvary Division, located near Ben Hoa, Viet Nam. Paternal grandparents are Mr.

and Mrs. E. R. Brock, Rt. 3.

W. STEWART The wedding of Miss Julia Mac Cooper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Cooper of Shreveport, to John Albert Wilson, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Albert G. Wilson of Hodge was solemnized in Noel Memorial Methodist Chapel in Shreveport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 1969. A reception was held in the parlor of the EROS NEWS On Tuesday of last week the writer and brother, Mr.

Jack Canady, drove to Bryceland to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Jones. The Canadys had often been told that the post office at Goldonna had been named for an uncle, Dr. William Golden.

They learned from Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Jones that the office had been named in honor of Dr. Golden. Mr.

and Mrs. Don Ciouston, Kathie and Donny, visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray R. Canady in North Hodge the past week.

The Cloustons live in Ness City, Kansas. On the past Thursday the Canadys and Cloustons enjoyed dinner in Jonesboro. On Friday Mr. and Mrs. Clouston and children visited the Canadys at Eros.

A recent letter from Mrs. H. L. Garrett of Baton Rouge reports that her daughter, Mrs. Martha Lee Worthington of Eau Claire, is going to spend the first semester of school doing work on a project in Berkley, Calif.

Mrs. Worthington had made a trip by plane to visit her daughter in Barcelona, Spain. We had a good rain Sunday morning, but not enough to make moisture meet. The Canadys attended services at Zions Rest on Sunday. Elder L.

C. Swanner, church pastor, preached a wonderful sermon. We were all happy to BEALL'S see Elder Swanner's father to be at church. He had recently undergone a serious operation in a Shreveport hospital. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT Mr.

and Mrs. Henry Greer of Hodge are happy to announce the birth of a daughter, born August 14 in the Hodge Clinic. The new arrival weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and has been named Connie Lynn. She is welcomed by a brother, Curtis. The paternal grandparents are Mr.

and Mrs. Earl Greer of Hodge and the maternal grandmother is Mrs. Bernice Culver of Hodge. The paternal great grandmother is Mrs. T.

The members are preparing for the football season by practicing new cheers and drilling on the track and field. Monday, August 25 is the deadline for joining the Pep Squad. All girls who wish to join the Pep Squad are urged to attend the meeting on Monday at 6 p.m. Robin Heard, Reporter Bowling News TUESDAY NIGHT MIXED LEAGUE Salley Grocery is currently leading the Tuesday Night Mixed League with a record of 32 games won and 20 lost. They also took all team honors for the night with a 2383 series and 836 game.

High individual scores were Molly Wheat's 535 series and P. C. Fowler's 188 game. Tootsie Durbin was high bowler for the ladies with a 483 series and 179 game.
