Godfrey and Moro Townships have been completed at her office, County Qerk Eulaia Hotz announced today. Collectors of the four townships have been notified that their 1960 records are ready for release and Wood River Township Collector Lavier D. Humphrey was the first to call for his tax books today, Miss Hotz said. James P. Gorman, Alton city treasurer and tax collector, and Godfrey Township Collector Mrs. Neva Zimmerman are expected! to pick up their tax books within a day or so to prepare statements for tax collections mis spring. Last year's total, before annexations of territory from the township to the City of Alton became effective, the total charged was $6,292.618.91. The Godfrey tax books also were completed April 14, with the total in taxes extended for collection amounting to $706,017.70, as compared with $631,449.39 for the prior year. Figures were not immediately available on the total amount of 1960 taxes extended for collection this year in the Moro Township tax books, now ready for release 1 to the township collector.
