Insurance Association Has $22,000,000 in Risks for Present Year's Business FARMERS MUTUAL INSURANCE association now has $22.000,000 in risks, according to Edmund Kelsh, secretary, who gives credit for the steady increase in business each year to the help of policy holders who are fire conscious and keep their premises in good condition in the interest of fire prevention. * * * It has been estimated that loss from fires through carelessness and neglect in both life and property is giving the national debt a hard run for first place. * * * Some of the most common losses about a farm or home are caused by matches, smoking in bed. electric appliances being out of order, use of pennies in fuse boxes, accumulated rubbish, oily rags and rubbish, poor pipes, chimneys, shingles, ashes in wooden containers, and many commonplace occurrences noted every day of the year. " " * Mr. Kelsh again calls attention to the necessity of policy holders getting removal permits when they change locations w'ith personal property. When real estate changes hands, it is necessary to have assignment blanks signed by both parties and recorded by the association. * * * Expiration cards are always sent out before policies expire, but it is up to the policy holders and the directors to see that they are taken' care of. * * * Officers of the Farmers Mutual include J. C. Bitterman, president. Mason City; Al K. Carstens, vice president. Burchinal; Henry Timm, treasurer. Thornton; Edmund Kelsh, secretary, Mason City; and Mynelle Kabrick,.assistant secretary, Clear Lake. * * * Township directors include Burton Prescott, Grant; J. P.
