Pauline Mills GARLAND, TEXAS L. Pauline Mills, 83, of Garland, Texas, formerly of Mattoon and Effingham, died at 4:10 p.m. Friday (Aug. 31, 2001) at Tender Living Care in Garland, Texas. The funeral Will be at 11 a.m.

Thursday at the Hohlt File Funeral Home in Vandalia with the Rev. William Staff officiating. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before service time on Thursday at the funeral home. She was born April 6, 1918, in Glendive, the daughter of Miles E.

and Margaret Wasser Mills. Surviving are two brothers, Edward W. MJlls of Vandalia and Forrest E. Mills Sr. of Mesquite, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Pierre Grisius, 77, of Mattoon died at 10:45 a.m. Friday (Aug. 31, 2001) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the May Chapel in Rose Hill Cemetery in Chicago.

Barr Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements. Local arrangements are by the Mitchell- Jerdari Funeral Home. He was born July 8, 1924, in Werdengin, Luxemburg, the son of Nicholas and Anna Schuck Grisius. He married Renate Gey in 1950. She survives.

Also surviving are two daugh ters, Randi Mathis of Chicago and Regina Dow of Mattoon; one son, Robert Grisius of Chicago; one brother, Michael Grisius of Chicago; one sister, Margot Jesky of McHenry; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son. Mr. Grisius operated the Hungry Cafe and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He Was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Club, both in Mattoon. AdaGirigsell CHARLESTON Ada Kathleen Gutgsell, 82, of Charleston, formerly of Indianapolis, died at 4:11 p.m: Sunday (Sept. 2, 2001), at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis with the Rev.

DAVIS CHARLESTON, IL-Harold Davis, age 80 of rural Charleston, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2001 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Graveside Services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday (September 5) at Maple Hill Cemetery in Westfield, Illinois with Reverend Jess Adams officiating. Survivors include his wife Martha Joan; three sons, Billy Ray Davis and his wife Jean of Chesterton, Indiana, Ronald Gene Davis and his wife Sharon of Hebron, Indiana and Jerry Harmon O'Connor and his wife Vicky of Woodstock, Georgia; five grandchildren; Five great grandchildren; one step grandchild; two step great grandchildren; and one brother, Gene A. Davis and his wife Wanda of Greenup, Illinois. He was preceded by his S0NDRA MAE KRABEL CHARLESTON, IL-Sondra Mae Krabel, age 60 of Charleston, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2001 at Mattoon Health Care Center.

Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday (September 5) with Pastor Kenney Bass officiating. Visitation will be held for one and one-half hours prior to the service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Services and visitation will be at Adams Funeral Chapel, 2330 Shawnee Drive in Charleston. Sondra was born March 4, 1941 in Owensville, Indiana the daughter of Donald and Jewell (Wilson) Larkin.

VIRGIL RUNNER Virgil Lee Runner, age 73, of Mattoon, passed away at 1:25 p.m., on Saturday, September 1, 2001, at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. Funeral services celebrating his life will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Robert C. Clark officiating. Buriai will be held in the Dodge Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be froni p.m. Tuesday evening at the Gerald M. Trainor LOV-JNGTON-Gerald M. "Jerry" Trainor, 86, of Lovingtoh, died at 11:29 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2001 in his home.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday in the First Christian Church, Lovington, with the Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from p.m. in the McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Lovington.

5, 1937, in Rose Hill, the son of Myrl and Hazel Swick Riddle Nichols. He married Loretta White in 1967. He later married Sandra Bailey Clark. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Teresa Nichols of Charleston; three stepchildren, Pam Miller of Indianapolis, Mike Clark of St.

Louis, and Becky Miller of Robinson; and one grandson and five stepgrandchildren. Mr. Nichols worked as a security supervisor and was an Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Robinson VFW, Greenup American Legion and affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Robinson. Memorials may be made to the American Heart or American Diabetes Associations.

GLENNA CURTNER Glenna Frances Curtner, age 59, of Mattoon, passed away at 5:10 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2001, at the Carle Foundation Hospital. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Schilling Funeral Home with the Reverend Ed Stephens officiating. Burial will be in the Dodge Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from p.m. Tuesflay evening at the funeral home. Glenna was born February 27, 1942 in Coles County a daughter of Glen W. and Sarah F. Bailey Plummer.

She married William E. "Bill" Curtner on June 14, 1958. He survives. Other survivors include one son, Troy A. Curtner of Mattoon; one daughter, Toni White and husband George of Montrose; her father, Glen W.

Plummer of Mattoon; one granddaughter, Stephanie L. Curtner of Terre Haute', Indiana; five brothers, Richard Plummer. and wife Glenda of Trowbridge, Gerald Plummer and wife Judy of Pacific, Missouri, Bob Plummer and Huddleston and his wife Kaiko of Palms, California, Destiny Painter of Ashmore, Holly Carney and her husband Brian of Elkhart, Indiana, Christian Chapman and his fiance Rebecca of Terre Haute and Elliott Washburn of Indianapolis, Indiana; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Cody Don Larkin and his wife Jill of Poseyville, Indiana and Jody Von Larkin and his wife Kim of Madison, Indiana; and one sister, Brenda Dawson and her husband Tom of Tuscon, Arizona. She was preceded by lifer parents. Sondra dearly loved her family.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers, garage sales and antiquing. She He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one grandson. Mr. Runner was a World War II Air Force veteran. He was the owneropera Runner tor of Runner's Disposal.

After his retirement he worked part time for the Amtrack station. He was a member of the American Legion Post 88 and a member of I.O.O.F Lodge 260. Hughes, and Casey A. Hughes, all of Mattoon. Hospice. He was born on November 30, 1914, in Shelby County, the son of William S. and Clara T.

Giles Trainor. He retired from the Brown Shoe Company, Sullivan. He was a member and Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church, Lovington, member of the Lovington Kiwanis Club. He married Melba E. Townsend on October 2, 1943 in Lovington and she survives.
