A shipment of 20 million bees valued at $6,500 passed through Austin, Minn., recently on their way by truck from Mayhew, Miss., to Canada, says the Northwood Anchor. Each truck carried about 1,400 wood and wire cages in which the bees were confined. The bees were of the Italian variety. For Sheriff. Baxter of Waukon, who served as sheriff of Allamakee county from 1932 to 1934, is seeking the nomination for this office on the democratic ticket at the primary election next Monday, June 1. Mr. Baxter is well qualified for the office by previous experience and no doubt will poll the major portion of the democratic votes. Other business of urgent importance has prevented him from making the thorough campaign he would like to, but nevertheless he solicits your good will and support which he will appreciate, and in return if subsequently elected, promises the same careful attention to the affairs of the sheriff's office as he gave them under his previous administration.
