Dakato, and Mr. and Mrs. Louie Slevert, Springfield, Minn., came Sunday Aug. 19, to spend the week in the Park Cowles and Frank Miller homes and with other relatives in the community. — • — Jean Ann Cowlts accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schori of West Union went to Stevens Point, Wis., Saturday to spend two weeks in the home of her sister, the David Olsons and with other Wis., relatives. —• — Mrs. Hazel Rasmusscn is spending this week with her daughter and family the Karl Vierows at Waverly. The Mike Lewis family nf Kansas are spending two weeks in the parental C. R. Dr. and Mrs. Waldo Walker of Grinnell are the parents of a daughter, Gail Ann, born Aug. 15. Grandparents of the baby are Mr. and Mrs. Jens Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Walker, Sr. all of Fayette. Betty and Penny Owen, of Randalia were visitors last week at the home of their grandmother, Mrs. Alia Owen. —•— Word has been received of the marriage of Carol Sankey of Evansdale and Lester Van Brocklin of Waterloo. Carol and her mother, Mrs. Bernita Sankey, were residents of Fayette before moving to Evunsdale about two years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Dm? Sieleman and family of Mason City visited in the Ross Hough home over the w^-ek-end and also attended Mrs. Siolemans class reunion held at the Fayette park. —• — Ricky Scheidel with other Cedar Rapids Gazette area carriers last week attended a three day vacation all expense paid trip to Chic ago. The boys visited the museum of Science, the Shedd Aquarium, Riverside amusement park nnd Wrigley field for a Cuh game. Carriers won the trip by being high producers in their area. The Volga Valley club held a flower show at their last meeting, which was held with Mrs. Pete Oelberg. Many artisitc and Interesting floral arrangements were shown.
